Had a fantastic stay at the Mercure Glasgow Hotel! The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a great variety to choose from, setting the perfect start to each day. The staff truly stood out—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, specially Rohan The atmosphere throughout the hotel was superb, making it a comfortable and relaxing experience from start to finish. “Great location/Requires TLC.”

We arrived just about midday,& were just going to leave our case at left luggage,with being early for check-in. The friendly guy on reception,informed us, there was a room ready if we'd like it? He explained if we signed up to become a member then we wouldn't need to pay the £25 early check-in fee.… more

We arrived just about midday,& were just going to leave our case at left luggage,with being early for check-in. The friendly guy on reception,informed us, there was a room ready if we'd like it? He explained if we signed up to become a member then we wouldn't need to pay the £25 early check-in fee. So we signed up there & then. Our room was on the 4th floor,won't disagree with others,the rooms do really need lots of TLC. Loads of scuff marks on the walls,skirting & furniture,a wee bit grubby looking,but clean,bed & pillows were comfy too,& at the end of the day,it is just a place to get your head down. Our room was small,& a little stuffy,we had to open the window. You can hear the noise outside(friday night) ,obviously where this hotel is,its literally bang in the city centre. So didn't bother us too much, we got off to sleep now probs. What did bother us was the bin lorries at 6am emptying the glass bottle bins,not the wake up call we required. That was us both awake. On the plus side,this hotel is in a brilliant location,its absolutely ideal,for what ever direction you head in,in the city centre,its close to the train station & buchanan bus station too. All the staff were spoke to were very professional & pleasant.

“Great Location, does the job”

Perfect Location, got a free room upgrade, 1 use slippers, bathrobes tea coffee and nespresso machine, maje sure you hold the left button on top down so coffee actually comes out lol..staff were friendly, shout out to Matthew and Rohan..Breakfast was fine..Many Thanks

I booked the Mercure as we needed a double plus a twin room, and wanted a hotel with windows that open - twin rooms are very hard to find, especially when not booked far in advance! Hotels should consider this and make all beds super king that can be split into 2. I digress. So, the rate was very agreeable for 3 nights/2 rooms, and I did read the reviews mentioning the state of bedrooms/bathrooms, so should have listened to the alarm bells… however the ratings for staff were all fantastic so I went with it. I had requested the double room have as open an outlook as possible and this was done which I was grateful for. BUT. The room had no heating - radiator did not work, so we had a portable oil filled heater to make do with. The room was freezing on arrival, and freezing 99%of the time… The carpets/wallcoverings/paintwork/furniture/ bathroom fittings were all more like 2 star - at a push…dirty, just horrible… the shower was in a ridiculous place, in the corner of the bath, diagonally, which meant having to stand up against the that end of the bath for the water to hit you…. The bed mattress sloped down towards the pillow end, and was soooo uncomfortable. The twin room was warm, hurray, but it was dark, bleak, dirty and again, just horrible! The wooden panels beneath the sink were hanging off. The windows were terrible, ‘hand-made’ double glazing, and absolutely filthy. The staff were lovely though. Helpful, smiley, friendly and professional. On leaving I aired my moans - as I said then, I assumed had there been a better room/one with heating then we would have been allocated that one, so no point in ‘complaining’. And if there WAS a better room….why were we allocated that awful midden for 3 nights…??? Anyway I was told then on check out that the hotel is 2 weeks away from refit beginning. About time! We put up with the state of the place, already deciding we would never be back… we have never craved home while being away on a trip, until then! 10/10 staff, 0/10 everything else. Hope the refit goes well, you’ll need a few million to bring it up to a 3 star…
