“Fantastic food!”

Excellent dinner! Food was very tasty (fish batter and steak pie exceptional) and staff were very attentive and extremely pleasant. There was a wedding on and staff were very mindful of us to make sure the dining room was kept a pleasant atmosphere too. Could not fault it, highly recommend 👌

Great hotel with views over the Firth of Forth from balcony and restaurant. Easy access to explore The East Neuk and St Andrews. Good walks on local beaches. Great hotel with views over the Firth of Forth from balcony and restaurant. Easy access to explore The East Neuk and St Andrews. Good walks on local beaches. We stayed 2 nights and found the staff friendly. They helped create a relaxed atmosphere. Room was spacious well furnished and comfortable. Nice touches included the caramel wafers, shortbread and Fine Highland Soaps toiletries. Food especially good. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. You have to try the local fish and chips. World class.

Stopped here for lunch whilst out walking the Fife Coastal Path. Warm welcome at reception before showing us through to the restaurant. Stopped here for lunch whilst out walking the Fife Coastal Path. Warm welcome at reception before showing us through to the restaurant. The restaurant has amazing views across the golf course towards the Forth which made it a lovely setting to enjoy lunch. We had sandwiches and a dessert to fuel us for our walk and everything we had was really tasty. The restaurant staff were efficient but a little brusque.

We arrived Saturday 13th June to check in. Staff on reception very friendly. They advised us that as the Scotland game was being shown in the lounge that night they had asked other guests to keep the noise down if Scotland should score or win. To be fair we didn’t hear a thing. When we came down to breakfast the next morning we were told that breakfast was help yourself buffet. We asked a waitress if they had any skimmed milk and she said she didn’t know but did not offer to go and check. When we asked why we couldn’t have a cooked breakfast the reply was “We have a lot of guests staying” We said but this is a hotel. She said they only had one chef working!!!!!! After a bit of complaining she agreed to ask the chef to do a hot cooked breakfast. In the restaurant that night the menu was very limited Mac and cheese five ways. We asked the waiter what sort of pastry was on the pie and he didn’t understand and had to go and check with chef. If he had had sufficient training he should have known what type of pastry it was. The staff should know what is on the menu. When we looked at the menu on the website it was far more superior and there were far more choices. The staff were always friendly but let themselves down in certain areas. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room but failed to replenish tea bags and the water. We had to request these from the bar although again very helpful member of staff but no apology. When we checked out the receptionist asked how our stay was and we said so so. She did not follow this up with why or asked for any feedback. It was such a shame, the hotel was very nice and our room was very lovely.
