I’ve been here twice now for a massage and to use the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. The massage by Caroline was excellent. We used a voucher so it was really very good value compared to a lot of spas. Afterwards you really should get some lunch in the beautiful dining room - the food was good, although its not really a place for tea and cake. The views are to die for and you can walk around the grounds, with big old trees, chessboard and a waterfall. Would highly recommend and will be back!

We stayed at Forest Hills Resort & Spa in Aberfoyle for a hen do, and it honestly couldn’t have been a better weekend. The whole place has such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff made our celebration feel genuinely special from start to finish. Our first night included a catered cocktail‑making session, which was an absolute highlight. Mark was brilliant — funny, energetic, and the perfect person to get the party going. We bumped into him again in the following days throughout different areas, and every single time he was friendly, warm, and so welcoming. The buffet that was served during the night was delicious and plentiful, and Malik who also waited on us was a total sweetheart with our group. Day 2 was our spa day, and it was exactly what we needed. Michelle gave me the most relaxing massage — truly the best I’ve ever had — and she was such a lovely person to chat to. The spa facilities were great, and a special mention has to go to beautiful Penny 🐾 who absolutely made our morning. The hot tub is on the smaller side and there were only 4 loungers, but the pool is huge and never felt too busy. Lunch outside was wonderful, and the waiters were all so friendly and attentive. In the evening we headed to Rafters, where we were looked after by Chris, another fantastic member of staff who couldn’t have been more patient or kind. The live music was outstanding — I believe the singer was Chris Suckle, and he had the whole bar singing and dancing. His voice and energy were so good that I actually texted my partner to say we have to come back because he’d love a night there with that kind of music and all round good vibes. And then there’s Marco. What can I say? He was beyond brilliant. He looked after us in every possible way, went above and beyond the entire weekend, and genuinely made us feel cared for. Even on the morning we were leaving, he popped over while we were having coffee just to check in. People like him make a place unforgettable. The hotel is also wonderfully dog‑friendly, which I absolutely love — I’ll definitely be back with my own dogs next time. A couple of small downsides, mainly around communication from the organisers (nothing to do with the hotel staff): We were originally meant to be split across two 3‑bed apartments, but when we arrived we were told that one had flooded the day before. We were moved to one 3‑bed and two 2‑bed apartments instead. Although this actually gave us more space overall, we hadn’t been told in advance, so we didn’t bring enough groceries for three separate kitchens and you have to drive 10-15 mins to the nearest town for shops (for example, we’d only brought two milks, two loaves, etc.). With a bit of notice, we could easily have picked up extras on the way. There was also some confusion around the set dinner menu. When we discussed it with the organisers beforehand, they mentioned creating a menu for us and giving a set price per head, but they never actually confirmed what that price would be despite all of the email communication ahead of time. We planned the dinner based on the individual menu prices (this was what the organisers had sent us) and gave the group three choices per course. It was only when paying the bill at the end of the night that we were told it was a fixed per‑head cost, which was higher than the individual item prices — meaning we ended up slightly over budget. It would have been really helpful to have that confirmed in advance. But credit to the hotel again here because the food was great and they handled it well! Some of the apartments are a little dated, but they’re very spacious and clean, so it didn’t affect our stay. The only other challenge was the lack of phone signal and patchy WiFi unless you were in the main hotel, spa, or Rafters — though in a way, it added to the “switch off and relax” vibe. Overall, Forest Hills gave us a hen weekend full of laughs, relaxation, amazing staff, and memories we’ll be talking about for years. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
