We were a group of 6 "older" ladies who travelled from Glasgow to Peterhead to hopefully see the northern lights but un unfortunately the weather didn't allow this. We were booked into the hotel and decided to stay in and we are glad we did. The hotel was spotless in every area. The staff were the most loveliest people you could ever meet and they made us feel most welcome. Rooms were very clean and bright with the most comfiest of beds (great for our old bones 😀) with a bath tub and a shower in all our rooms. Food was just to die for, a great choice on the menu which we all ate every bit. Breakfast was the best ever too. The entertainment was amazing, really enjoyable, it had our toes tapping from the first song.... Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY 💯 Tyvm from the Kelly table.

“Another great break at the Waterside”

Another lovely break at the Waterside. The staff always go above and beyond for guests and are very understanding and accommodating about complex needs and last minute requests. The food is good quality as well the entertainment. We love our visits here.

Nice enough hotel but a bit out of the way. My room was excellent with a fridge, double and single bed and was very cosy and clean. We went for Hogmanay so stayed for 3 nights as part of a coach trip. The breakfast was good but the queues were very long with 4 coaches in. The evening meals were just ok, for some reason there was random salad dishes with the hot food which didn't go at all, again very long queues and the tables were not cleared, however, this could have just been down to it being so busy. It would not put me of returning. The Hogmanay Party itself was excellent with really good entertainment. We had a great crowd of people and everyone joined in, including James the Manager and his son. James always makes you feel welcome and interacts with the guests. Nice swimming pool and gym but I didn't get a chance to try them.

“Hogmanay coach trip.”

Just returned from spending Hogmanay at this hotel on a tour bus . I was well impressed with staff in fact they couldn’t do enough for all the passengers on the numerous bus companies that were there for this time of year, hotel was warm entertainment was enjoyable . Just returned from spending Hogmanay at this hotel on a tour bus . I was well impressed with staff in fact they couldn’t do enough for all the passengers on the numerous bus companies that were there for this time of year, hotel was warm entertainment was enjoyable . Prices in bar were a wee bit high . Only gripe I have is there were not enough staff to cater for the amount that had booked in for the weekend. First morning was overwhelming with the queues of very greedy passengers who couldn’t fill the plates with enough food therefore that morning I ended up with fruit and toast which was ample . Next morning was better organised as it was scattered times so I managed a full cooked breakfast which was excellent but last morning again was chaotic so only managed tinned fruit and toast. Meals at night were only two choices but all well cooked although standing in a queue kind of spoiled the meal time. Having had a small hotel many years ago I can understand the problems but to put all the weight on the good staff they have is not the best if they want to keep them all happy. I’m sure they were well advised that numerous coaches had booked in so really should have catered a lot better. I spoke to a number of people who return year after year but this time were disappointed in the crowding of the meal times. I wish the two gentlemen who run it all the best as they both with the staff they have do an excellent job. Just employ more locals especially when you have a number of coach parties booked in.
