We booked on an offer and was great value for money, hotel is a bit tired but staff and food were great, we upgraded to a suite and was nice big room. We had food and wine included and could not fault it, the breakfast was also very good. Pool is nice, slightly tired but for what we paid we enjoyed our stay!

“Pleasant 2 night stay”

We stayed at he Brandon Hall for a two night DBB (Groupon deal). I was slightly concerned having read some of the reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised with the overall package. The hotel is a combination of old and new buildings, which look fine from a distance. The old main building* could do with a freshen up though. Check in was easy, with a friendly and helpful receptionist. We had an executive room, which was large, with a king size bed, huge tv, clean bathroom with a bath and large shower .The room was clean and in good decorative order. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Dinner on both nights was very good, with plenty of choice, as were both breakfast offerings. We didn’t explore the grounds fully, but what we saw looked well kept and tidy. I’ve seen a lot of negative comments regarding the spa, which is separate from the main building. We found it to be clean, with plenty of fresh towels . The guy on reception again was friendly and helpful. The lockers were a bit of a faff to operate, but were at least free! The pool was large and not too cold.. We did see some missing tiles in the pool and around the showers. Both the sauna and steam rooms were working fine. But yes, no jacuzzi, or any spa treatments on offer. Would we stay again? If we were in the midlands, then probably yes. And to answer one reviewer who stated anyone giving more than 2 stars should be questioned, we can only score on our experience,!!!!

Bought a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package via Groupon, therefore, great value for money. The hotel and leisure facilities are quite tired looking and need a lot of TLC. The initial greeting at Reception, although pleasant, was not friendly or indeed helpful or informative. We had to ask about using leisure facilities, ask about evening meal booking etc. We'd arrived early as we wanted a light lunch in the hotel bar and to use leisure facilities. Lunch was ok, but prices expensive. £25 for a burger/£17 for a chicken salad in a bar we thought expensive? The decor doesn't seem to match the building, a grand old beautiful building with laminate floors? Overall no cosy atmosphere, not much atmosphere at all. Huge tv in the bar/lounge area that was on but muted but then different music playing through speakers. Leisure facilities were ok, not what you'd get at a Spa hotel, but ok for a sauna & swim, no jacuzzi though. Evening meal was tasty and quite a nice choice considering it was in the price paid. Breakfast was good. Late (12 noon) checkout included in our deal, so always a bonus not to have to rush out of the room. Overall an OK stay, but have stayed a much nicer places using a similar deal. Didn't come away thinking I'd recommend to anyone.
