We’ve stayed multiple times over the years and have noticed an improvement in all things Paradise Isle this past year. Grounds, maintenance, cleanliness, staffing. This place is unique in that some units are privately owned, so much more updated as those owners invest solely in their property. Other units are part of a time share program, so many owners for each unit. That’s why some of the pictures we saw online didn’t match what we walked into. I will also say, many of the interior pictures are completely outdated in those time share units. Some of the pictures floating out there look original to the complex… like 80s. I can assure you the units we’ve been in do not look like that! They’ve got a website now that makes it easier for my family to see what’s available and rent it without having to call the office (they have limited hours). paradiseisleresort.com. It has updated pictures and pricing, so we know exactly what we’re renting. The units with private owners have their own sites I think. They are at least on Vrbo I know because I’ve rented there before. Oh-some units are dog friendly while others are not. I know for sure the time share units are Not. Glad I confirmed this before we hit the road with our pup!

We went to Paradise Isle Resort on the Week of May 23-30, 2026. This review may be a little different than many because Gulf Shores, Alabama has been having a very unusual weather and beach forecast. Let’s be clear, the rain, the low temperatures, and red flags on the beach were not the resort’s fault. My wife and I decided to make the best of our week in Gulf Shores without needing the beach. Our review may sound generous/positive, but we chose to review Paradise Isles on what they could control, and nothing else. During our planning for this trip we went to the Paradise Isles website and searched for “Unit 37”. Some of the pictures on the website are not inside, nor taken through the windows, of Unit 37. For the simple sake of honesty on the part of the resort, they should change all the pictures to more accurate. The inside of unit 37 very much reflects the age of the unit. It is old, simple, basic, but it is well kept up, freshly painted, and it is neat and clean. It is not fancy. It is small, but it is pretty much all a family of four needs while at the beach. The oven, refrigerator, and stove/oven combination, are all very modern. They are all stainless steel, and would be fine in pretty much any Gulf Beach condo. The sink DOES NOT have a garbage disposal if that is important to you. The bathroom is VERY SMALL by any standard. It looks very much like the bathroom in the first townhouse my wife and I owned in the late 1970s. Everything in the bathroom was clean and functional. The water pressure during a shower is very weak, but you can still take a shower and get the soap off of you with zero problems. The sink is on a small single sink cabinet, but it is also clean, neat, and very functional. Both bedrooms in Unit 37 have queen size beds. We found the mattress to be on the uncomfortable side, but we have a $10,000 Stearns and Foster mattress in our bedroom. If you expect equal to that you should probably learn to stay home. I doubt if 1% of hotels/resorts in America have luxury mattresses. The parking spaces near Unit 37 are VERY NARROW. When we opened the rear passenger door we damaged the door. In this case, I take the blame because I got out and looked at the space and check to see if I thought the door would open, so I told my wife it is my fault. There are very nice flat screen televisions in the living room, and both bedrooms. They have very strong internet and also have Dish Network for all three TVs. There is no speaker to use with the Bluetooth on your phone. The internet speeds were 98.75 download and 50.16 upload. For vacation this is more than acceptable. Overall the UNIT 37 at Paradise Isle Resort is BASIC, but very neat, and very functional for a couple, or a family up to 4 people. I would not want to try and put a family larger than 4 in this unit. They do a towel exchange on Wednesdays. The pool and hot tub are very nice. I read that some people found the pool to be dirty. We have a large in-ground swimming pool at our house. This pool is very well kept. The week we were at Paradise Isle we never saw more than 3 people in the pool and hot tub put together, but remember that the temperatures were very low and it rained a lot this week. You need to know is that there are apparently units that are privately owned, so you cannot assume that every unit will look the same. You also need to know that there are only workers onsite on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. Other than that you will need to call an emergency number found on the office door. I was told that 18 of the units are Bluegreen/RCI units, and the remainder are privately owned. As far as location goes, this unit is GREAT. We were here during a red flag week, but that is not at the choice of the resort. Note: We came a day later than our reservation called for due to a family obligation. We are leaving a day early. Both of these are our choice. Between the cooler and rainy beach weather, and the red flags and the riptide we are choosing to leave early. It is warm enough for us to swim at home. There were workers in Unit 36 (next door to us) all weeks giving that unit at face lift. On our last night I had a chance to thank them for how quietly they worked during the week. We have been at RCI resorts in the past when workers made so much noise it came pretty close to ruining our vacation. The crew here was exceptionally courteous. Thank you to Jess and the others at Paradise Isle Resort for a relaxing week.
