I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Tahneceya at the front desk for providing amazing service. She was professional, kind, and made check-in quick and easy while making us feel genuinely welcome.

Staff was super helpful and found an accessible room, although I didn’t reserve one. Room very clean. Very close to airport. Scheduled a shuttle for our specific time of transfer. I’d stay here again.

This hotel saved us from what was possibly the worst start to a vacation ever. After arriving in Anchorage on a late flight, we showed up to the Comfort Inn and Suites near the airport only to learn they had cancelled our reservation. This was after I had called and specifically checked on our existing reservation and was assured we were good to go. However, at 1:30AM we were turned away despite me literally showing our confirmed reservation on an email to the front desk lady. No reason why, no explanation, no apology, and worst of all, no room. They were fully booked. This was when our son broke down crying. He was exhausted from a long day of travel and also scared. Well, that worry didn’t last long because we drove down the road to the Courtyard Marriott and we spoke to Deionte, the night auditor. He was super cool and saw how exhausted and defeated we were and he got us a room right away. He gave us a welcome bag with water and snacks which was sooooo needed. The cost was a lot more than the other hotel, but at 2AM, nothing mattered more than getting our kid to bed and somewhere safe. The next day we spoke to Tahneceya at the front desk of the Courtyard Marriot. She was so sweet and understanding. She then told our story to the general manager, Leah. They knew we were about to pay full, last minute price for the room so they got us a better price which allowed us to stay for the full three days we were supposed to spend at the other hotel. The customer service at the Marriott, and the amazing staff was top notch. Thank you for all the kindness you showed us! As far as the hotel, it was very nice, comfortable, and super clean. Our room was facing full sun for those long Alaska nights and the blackout shades were 100% light blocking! We loved watching the float planes take off and land from Lake Spenard. Breakfast was not included but could be purchased and the food was really good, hot, and fresh from the cafe downstairs. My son loved the indoor pool. It was very clean and had a spa as well. He gives the pool 5 stars. There’s also a nice courtyard patio off the dining room and bar where you can sit and read or get fresh air. Because of the excellent experience we had with this hotel, we are now Marriot Bonvoy members and plan on staying at Marriot again. They did not disappoint. The customer service at this hotel was stellar! If you’d like to learn more about what happened with the other hotel, I will also be writing a review for them as to warn others so hopefully your rooms isn’t cancelled without any notification. We never even got an email or any notification. We never got an apology or any compensation for their mistake. Marriot, however, 5 stars! I highly recommend the Courtyard Marriot near the airport.

My recent stay (two nights) at this hotel was uniformly excellent! The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable in all regards and the staff is uniformly polite. The exercise area is also superb; well maintained with a good selection of treadmills as well as free weights and kettlebells. The pool and hot tub are also a real asset, and during my stay (in -10 weather), not being utilized by anyone else. The shuttle to and from the airport is efficient and the one driver (missed his name, but he emigrated to the US from Mexico about 30 years ago) personified hustle and was pleasant and courteous to a degree rarely seen in this era. A few points to mention (and to make sure no one thinks a bot has submitted this review) in mild contrast to the above; there are minifridges in all the rooms, but they aren't easy to find, being tucked inside a cabinet. Additionally, food is available for breakfast and dinner in the hotel, but not at lunch. This requires a brief walk to the nearest restaurant across the street in a lodge, where I found the service uninspiring and the staff disinterested. Finally, if you call the number of the hotel you are connected to the "AI assistant"; ugh! It is a waste of time, and when I asked for a shuttle reservation, I was connected to Marriott's central room reservation service. I'm guessing this is not a problem of the hotel per se, but rather corporate Marriott (and other businesses today) who feel such an AI element is valuable and, no doubt, money saving. Anyone who is reading this from the Anchorage Courtyard or from Marriott, my gentle advice is to get rid of the AI assistant!!! I would much rather have a person answer the phone, or be put on hold, than deal with a 'innovation' that is detrimental to your image of providing customer service. Finally, Corinne at the front desk was a delight to interact with in all regards. Thanks for listening to a bit of a curmudgeonly rant; overall I would return to this hotel anytime I was needing to overnight near the Anchorage airport!
