Our room had been recently renovated and was in the section back from the road. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The shuttle to the train station early the next morning was greatly appreciated. Super value for the price. Highly recommend.

This hotel is about a 3–5 minute drive from downtown. An Uber ride to downtown costs around $10, whether you are going to the downtown day-tour pickup points or to the bus/train stations for Denali or Seward. Most hotels rated above 3.6 stars within walking distance of these transportation hubs cost around US$300–500 per night during the peak season (July and August), usually without breakfast or shuttle service. This hotel was about US$200 per night, including both breakfast and a complimentary shuttle. Whether paying an extra US$100–300 per night is worthwhile depends on your priorities. Breakfast: A standard self-service American breakfast with a good selection. If you need to leave before 6:00 a.m., the hotel even prepares individually wrapped bread and coffee as early as 3:00 a.m. for guests to take with them. This thoughtful service was much appreciated. Shuttle Service: Available 24 hours a day. The early morning transportation to the airport, train station, or bus station was especially reliable. The hotel operates two clearly marked shuttle vehicles (a 9-passenger van and a 14-passenger van). Room: Equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a clean bathroom. Property: A classic two-story American motel, just like those often seen in movies. There are only about twenty guest rooms arranged in a U-shaped layout, with the reception, lobby, and breakfast area all located in a single building. This hotel is an excellent value if: * You arrive in the evening and either leave the next morning or join a day tour before continuing your trip, so you only need one night’s stay. * You are not looking for the facilities of a traditional full-service hotel and have a limited budget. In these situations, I believe this hotel offers one of the best values in Anchorage. Before booking, we read many reviews and already had realistic expectations regarding the rooms, shuttle service, and overall property. As a result, we were not disappointed when we arrived. In fact, our experience exceeded our expectations. The elderly couple who operate the shuttle are genuine, hardworking people. They begin driving guests to the airport and bus stations as early as 4:00 a.m. Unlike large hotel chains with scheduled shuttle services, this small hotel provides transportation around the clock. Their dedication and sincerity deserve recognition. One suggestion for the hotel: if room rates were increased by only US$10–15 per night, the hotel could occasionally use Uber when there is a scheduling conflict—for example, if an airport transfer and a downtown pickup are requested at the same time. Airport departures are naturally more time-sensitive, while a downtown guest could be offered an Uber instead. This would help avoid situations where guests with very high expectations for the shuttle service feel overlooked and allow one isolated experience to overshadow an otherwise excellent stay. Another small improvement would be to keep one or two spare hair dryers and some room air freshener available at the front desk for unexpected guest needs. Simple measures like these could further enhance the guest experience and help prevent minor inconveniences from affecting an otherwise very positive impression.

“Nice staff, okay facility”

The staff was great, very eager to please. But the location was a little rundown, and the rooms were kind of dingy. Decent enough for a budget option, but nothing special.
