“Best valet service ever!”

I have to say i was thoroughly impressed with a young gentleman by the name of dominic. He greeted me with the upmost hospitality and was treated me with excellent customer service. Any corporation would be lucky to have an employee like dominic.

This hotel is close to downtown and a short walk from the conference center. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Even though the hotel is on a corner, it is not noisy or busy. The check-in desk is quite small but all staff are friendly and very helpful with all sorts of odd requests about wi-fi and travel. The rooms are relatively large and spacious. My only comment would be there is not much drawer space. Only a slide out tray in the bathroom and none in the room except for baskets in one of the cupboards under the TV. What it does have is a mini fridge which is handy. There are handy USB ports as well as mains sockets and a decent table and chair for any work. The rooms are functional and comfortable but there are no 'luxury' touches like additional seating or furnishings. There is no room service but there is an in-house shop for evening meals - although there is so much variety in downtown Phoenix you may not need to use this. The hotel breakfast is adequate but there is little fresh fruit and the choice is reasonably limited with scrambled eggs, sausages etc, toast and bagels or cereals. The waffle maker is a good option though. The tea and coffee choices are limited but they do the job to get you ready for the morning ahead. The breakfast room is nice and light - floor to ceiling windows and there is also a small bar in the same area for evenings.

I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact we didn't have any shampoo and our room wasn't serviced. Our first morning in the shower, we discovered the shampoo pump bottle was empty, so we washed our hair with shower gel (I'm sure it's all the same stuff anyway!) and made a request at the front desk that housekeeping definitely refill/replace the bottle. Well...after returning to our hotel room around 5:30pm, we discovered our room hadn't been serviced AT ALL. The bed wasn't made, trash wasn't emptied, towels not replaced, make-up wipes not replaced and...still no shampoo. We called the front desk and they delivered a new bottle of shampoo and fresh towels right away. OK, so we thought maybe they were still doing the 'Covid' housekeeping schedule, so upon checkout we asked if there was a reason our room wasn't serviced. They said it should have been serviced, apologized and said they'd bring it up with housekeeping. Not really the response we were hoping for! Here are our PROS and CONS for the hotel: PROS: -Convenient downtown location. We took the light rail from the airport and walked to the hotel. -Clean and modern. -Friendly staff. -Quiet. (We chose the top floor purposefully). Some minor road noise, but we took ear plugs. -Room equipped with all the necessities such as a mini-fridge, coffee maker, nightlight, iron. -Coffee carafes in the lobby. CONS: -We didn't get housekeeping service or have shampoo. -Breakfast could be improved with a few healthier options like plain yogurt and grainy toast. -Breakfast serving area gets jammed up on the side of the waffle maker. It would be better if they could utilize the bar in the breakfast seating area to spread out some of the food. -I'm not a big fan of the bathroom 'barn door'.
