Spent 4 nights first night 155 and others in 237 opposite ends of hotel both away from elevator The floors are somewhat different in this hotel on the hillside. Entry floor is 3 rd level with one up floor and the others below third floor /lobby. Pool and 4 person jacuzzi is outside at end of 3rd floor. Gate key doesn’t work. Both odd floor are at ground level accessible from outside and i am somewhat superstitious. The first floor away from highway was extremely quiet. Spacious as both rooms are with mini fridge and microwave. The room door was broken or loose hinged so must lift door to securely shut it. Snd view was a hillside electrical units of some sort. Asked to change room next day was very accommodating but while changing rooms the hall air was stale and notice some oder in hallways both floors with a hint of air circulating in hall on 2nd y new room. 2nd floor had view or 1/4 coast when a.m. not foggy. But highway noise was constant more so than motel 6 along highway in south slo. Also nee room could hear all the steps of room above and at bed headboard could moderately hear next room tv on. Requested that when that room is empty that it be kept empty till we leave in several days. I believe they will oblige request. The staff has been very attentive and accommodating to needs. New room had only 4 hangers and when i asked maid Spanish speaking only for hangers from an empty room she suggested to request from desk… i had yet to ask when knock on door brought hangers like 4 x as needed. Rooms are spacious smell clean very comfortable bedding and nice standard hilton toiletries found in Hampton inns ( like Reno). AC in first unit worked by wall unit but not the wall controller but exterior wall unit in second room only worked through the wall controller/ thermostat and it was unmanageable. Frustrating either on too cool or off room heats up in daylight. Food free breakfast is standardly very good and tasty although this unit had only 3 fruits to pick and peel but they had flat sausages that were extremely good for seconds and i don’t eat sausages due to visual fat content. Also on a number of occasions had to rekey the room electric key do to not working . Lets see 2 more nights

“Go for the clams not the hot water”

First, the staff was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was excellent, guest laundry, hot tub were great. The room was clean and in excellent condition. The ONLY problem, and I did make it known my first week there, and it wasn't;t just me there were several others making the same complain from different parts of the hotel was that there was little to NO hot water in the shower in particular and the bathroom in general. I mean in my room, I had the water valve full left, maximum hot which in most hotels including the two I have been in since my stay there, also in California, brings water so hot you have put your hand in it for more than a second. Not at this property, with the valve full hot, I had to put the shower onto massage to reduce the flow enough to get lukewarm. For three weeks I endured basically a cold shower with the chill taken off. Believe me I tried to get my employer to change hotels but everything was booked. Maybe this is your way of reducing water usage, just don't heat it and no one will use the shower. Its a shame, the property is nice and location good but I won't be staying there until you get proper hot water.
