Checked in okay, reception staff pleasant. Room big enough for 4 and no issues with cleanliness. Used the pool once which was nice. Free towels provided and pool area itself was well kept. Location wise a little too far from all the main attractions as not within walking distance. Okay if you have a car however as only 10-20 mins or so away from most things. We used ubers alot costing between £15-25 depending on where you go. Overall decent hotel for what we wanted.

“You get what you pay for!”

The hotel is pretty nice, however, it is very understaffed! No one answers the phone. There was rarely someone at the front desk. The Bistro had one employee and he wasn't very fast. The worst thing was that our room did not have blackout shades. It wouldn't be a huge deal if not for the all-night illuminated string lights in the courtyard at our level (Room 329). Light in our room all night long!! Really?!? No blackout shades?!? The old adage is true..."You get what you pay for!"

We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel for three nights during a heat wave. Pil at the front desk was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay, and the hotel’s location is excellent for exploring Hollywood and the surrounding area. The property has a quirky charm with a lovely pool area and a quaint, relaxing courtyard. The parking lot is spacious, which was appreciated. If you’re traveling with pets, be aware that the hotel charges $50 per pet, per night, and self-parking is $43 per night, so those fees can add up quickly. Bistro 66 is only open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., so plan accordingly if you’re looking for food later in the day. One disappointment was that the hotel’s mobile website advertises Luminary rooms as including complimentary coffee, tea, and an in-room coffee maker. We were told those amenities are no longer offered, but the website has not been updated to reflect that. The biggest letdown was the rooms. We booked two rooms, and unfortunately neither one appeared to have been updated. The online photos did not accurately reflect what we received. Both bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been renovated in decades. The drapes were not room-darkening, and the air conditioners in both rooms were noisy and never blew cold air, making the rooms especially uncomfortable during the heat wave. While the mattresses themselves were comfortable, both beds were extremely creaky and noisy, to the point that simply rolling over would wake the other person. Another frustrating experience involved parking. My makeup artist came to the hotel for less than two hours on the morning of a wedding. The parking signage clearly stated that parking is charged in $1.50 increments, yet she was charged the full $43 daily rate. When I politely tried to explain the situation to the morning front desk clerk, he repeatedly interrupted me instead of listening to my concern and was unwilling to help resolve the issue. It was a disappointing interaction, especially after the excellent customer service we had received from Pil. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it in terms of its central location, friendly staff, and attractive common areas. However, the guest rooms could use significant updating, the website should accurately reflect current amenities, and the parking policies and customer service need improvement. In hindsight, I probably would have spent a little more to stay somewhere newer and more comfortable.
