My husband and I were visiting Universal and wanted to stay close enough to walk but save a little money by not staying at one of the big hotels right next to the park. This hotel was about a 20 minute walk and saved us a big chunk of change! Our room was very clean and had a king bed, mini fridge, microwave, and TV... so pretty much just what we needed with no frills. We appreciated that there were plenty of outlets around the room, including both sides of the bed. There is a super yummy Thai restaurant RIGHT next door that made us gluten free food fresh to order which we took back and ate in our room while we watched TV, and there is a Starbucks right across the street, but with the mini fridge and free coffee in the lobby you don't really need to go there! The location of the hotel is quite noisy so if you are a light sleeper maybe bring some earplugs. When we visit Universal with the entire family this is where we will be staying!

We were pretty hesitant to book this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but the price fit our budget so we decided to give it a shot. We were visiting Universal for a couple of days. We arrived on a Sunday evening and were immediately welcomed by a staff member (I believe his name was Ishmael). He was fantastic — friendly, helpful, and made check-in really easy. Based on our experience, the positive comments about the staff are definitely accurate. We stayed in the Family Suite since we’re a family of five. It’s essentially two rooms connected by an interior door, which actually worked well for us. The kids had their own space, but we were still close enough to keep an eye on things. It gave us just enough separation without feeling disconnected. The room itself was perfectly fine. Nothing stood out as being dirty or concerning. Our room happened to be located above the indoor pool area, so there was a slight muggy feeling when we first walked in. After turning on the A/C for a bit it went away and didn’t bother us the rest of the stay. The hotel itself is a bit older, but honestly I’ve stayed in far worse places. Yeah there’s noticeable stains on the hallway carpet, the walls were slightly peeling in some areas, there’s a little rust on the metal items but dirty….nah. The location was also great. We chose to Uber to Universal instead of driving because it actually ended up being cheaper than paying for parking. Overall, our stay was completely fine and good value for the price. If you’re someone who notices every little detail or expects a very modern hotel, this might not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for something affordable in a good location, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
