We arrived a little early and they gave us an early check-in which was very helpful as we were travelling with our seven month old baby. The room was a good size very comfortable bed but a little rundown compared to the photos. All of the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful with good recommendations. Parking on site was easily accessible also and about $18 a day within In-N-Out privileges. The fire pits were also a good touch. Just two small negatives. We could hear people in the rooms next door and below quite easily and even could hear their phones vibrating on the table. Only other negative was that the pack and play brackets baby caught was a little old and not very flat but they were very helpful in attending to our needs to solve this.

“Aquarium visitors”

Location is ideal for checking out cannery row & the aquarium. Atmosphere is decent if you like older motels, but at least they offer a secure property where the public can’t get to the rooms. Location is ideal for checking out cannery row & the aquarium. Atmosphere is decent if you like older motels, but at least they offer a secure property where the public can’t get to the rooms. Outdoor fire pits are nice, no vending machine so bring your own unless you like free granola bars. Rooms: they’re dated, but decent & clean. It’s been awhile since this place was updated. I would probably look around more next time. Issue: we heard the people above us come in from a late night out, & then we heard them rise early & stomp all over the place. The value was decent & Carol was a delight at the front desk. For an old place the rooms were clean & we liked the wall units for the AC. I covered the noise level already, but keep in mind it’s an old place so you hear the road noise even though they have dual pane windows. Service was great & the staff helpful, nobody is on the property after 11pm until 6am. Amenities? None outside the room other than the ice maker & each room has a basic (1 cup at a time) coffee maker. Nice little fridge under the cabinet. TV should come with some instructions as it has 3 basic options, but the controller didn’t want to cooperate. Bed was comfy, and bathroom was decent & very clean.

We visited in January, a slow time. We arrived early and couldn’t get into our room (despite the occupancy rate obviously being low) but were told we could park. Our room was on the 4th floor and had an adjoining bedroom with separate entry we hadn’t asked for and which was a bit disconcerting as the door between couldn’t be properly secured. The room was basic but fine. The fixtures which were probably cute or even chic in their day are now tired. This is really a motel. What upsells it is that they give you a welcome pack of nuts and oatmeal bars, and they have fire pits on the second floor where you can have a drink at night. What would help more is to have coffee and water available in the lobby. There was nothing wrong with our stay, and the location is very convenient to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. We would stay again although we would probably look at other options too.
