“Comfortable Stay, but breakfast chaotic, and just too busy for the amounts of guests...”

We recently had a two night stay at the HWS Palm Desert over New Years, and here is our review. We arrived after a long drive from Las Vegas, and were surprised by the Tesla destination chargers in the parking lot. Plugging the Model 3 in to charge overnight, was an unexpected benefit of this stay. We'd checked in on the app, and had digital key, and were able to enter via the rear doors, and we went straight up to our room skipping the front desk. We're Hilton Honors Diamond, but I don't believe you get room upgrades with HWS, so we paid for a larger room. The room was spacious, the sofa bed was a decent size. We've teenage kids, and sharing a sofa bed is becoming less suitable, so it was good that the ones in this hotel were wider than you'd usually find. The room was clean, and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. That said there was no dish soap, which is usually available at other HWS. Breakfast was a let down to be honest. A general lack of food, and too many people for the breakfast seating area. There's simply not enough seating for the amount of guests. So we struggled to find food, i.e. it not being replenished quickly enough, and when we did get some food, not what we wanted, but something, there was no where to sit to eat it. Overall though, it worked for us as a comfortable, and clean place to stay for a couple of days. It was just a shame about the awful weather, not the hotels fault obviously, but I think it must've been monsoon season when we visited! :o) Thanks for reading.

As Homewood Suites go, this one was below average and seemed in need of renovation. A/C is important in this climate, but is provided by noisy wall units rather than being central. As Homewood Suites go, this one was below average and seemed in need of renovation. A/C is important in this climate, but is provided by noisy wall units rather than being central. One unfortunate consequence for us was that it pulled in cigarette smoke from somebody outside. Carpet in our room was splotchy and threadbare. Free breakfast was below average as such things go. On the plus side, everything was clean and the staff was pleasant, and the price was reasonable. Overall it was a decent place to stay, but if we return to Palm Desert we will probably try a different place unless we see that this has been renovated in the meantime.
