We spent five days at this property during a brief road-trip vacation. Check-in was quick and courteous, with multiple clerks at the front desk every time we departed or returned. Self-parking is $45/night; yes, it's OOF, but this is a new revenue stream that most hotels have discovered, so we just have to deal with it. At least the garage felt very secure, with wide spot striping to prevent door dings and eliminate contortionist-like maneuvers to enter and exit the vehicle. We had a corner room on the northwest corner of the sixth floor, and the view was magnificent both day and night. Everything was clean and operable, the bed was very comfortable, and while there was some noise from the airport and Harbor Drive, we stopped noticing it fairly quickly. I appreciate that any use of the elevator requires scanning your key-card, which keeps non-guests from entering the upper floors with the guest rooms. Breakfast was included, and as some other reviewers have noted, it was adequate at best. If you have a gluten intolerance, your choices will be even more limited. In any case, it served the purpose. The Harbor & Sky restaurant, in which breakfast is provided, can be a bit of a madhouse if inclement weather prevents guests from dining outside. We just brought ours back to our room. The location is outstanding! Although on a map it may seem like a difficult place to drive to or from, the San Diego streets are very well laid out, and driving to freeway on-ramps or sites within the city was a breeze. There are also MANY restaurants within walking distance, so you won't be stuck with the food on the property. Don't deprive yourself of the view just to increase the convenience. We will definitely stay here again during a future visit!

“Well Located and Modern”

The Springhill Suites Downtown / Bayfront was very well located in San Diego and provided views of the bay area. It was modern, clean and with larger rooms with loads of light. It had a good pool area and good management which provided good service. Overall a good place to stay in San Diego.

“Wonderful property, but beware of noise”

Stayed here the night before a cruise in mid-November. The location could not have been more convenient, right across the street from the cruise terminal. The hotel is modern, my room was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed, and items in the on site little store were reasonably priced. Breakfast was a disappointment to me; the accompaniments for the scrambled eggs were tortilla chips and ground chorizo, but they also had plenty of yogurt, breads, waffles, etc. Be aware that the property is less than a mile from the end of the runway at San Diego International Airport. My room was on the north side with a view of all the planes taking off (think engine roar every few minutes) and and landing. Also, I might steer clear of rooms near the elevators on the upper floors; the elevator motors were unbelievably loud. Overall, relatively minor, picky issues, and I would recommend.
