Awesome stay in SF at this hotel. Super convenient location. Lots to walk to, so close to the BART, and we were able to walk to the Pride Parade. The room was perfect; it was comfortable and the amenities were on point. I really love the reusable water bottle and refill stations. Sipping hour was awesome. Yes, those martinis!

“Great hotel”

Staying here from Australia for a few days and can’t fault it. Location amazing, hotel fresh and modern, front desk amazing (especially Jared who went way above and beyond to help me). Highly recommend.

We stayed one night in the Sutter Suite. The room itself was fine, and the location is convenient for downtown San Francisco, but there were enough small issues that the overall experience didn’t feel worth repeating. Room 619 had a fair amount of street noise. My guess is that the entire “19” line on each floor has the same issue, so light sleepers may want to avoid those rooms. The bathroom also had no vent, which meant the choice was either opening the window and getting more street noise, or keeping everything closed up. The amenities were disappointing. The advertised evening wine hour runs strictly from 5 to 6. We arrived at 6:05 to a lobby full of people still drinking wine, but were told it was over. Fair enough on the posted hours, but it felt a little odd given the scene. The 24 Hour Fitness day pass was not useful because the nearby 24 Hour Fitness was closed. The hotel restaurant was also closed for summer vacation during our stay, which was not mentioned in the pre-arrival emails. And the morning coffee, included as part of the amenity fee, tasted like cheap hotel coffee. The amenity fee itself felt hard to justify. On paper it includes coffee, wine hour, Wi-Fi, fitness access, printing, and other items. In practice, several of the things we actually wanted were unavailable, low quality, or easy to miss. Check-out was also clunky. Our reservation was originally for three people, but only two of us could travel. The confirmation email said there was a $20 charge for each additional adult over two. When I asked about removing that charge, the person at the desk said there was no third-person charge. When I showed the confirmation email, she didn’t seem to know how to handle it. Nothing was catastrophic. The hotel is in a useful location, the room was acceptable, and some guests will probably have a perfectly fine stay. But between the street noise, bathroom ventilation, unavailable amenities, closed restaurant, and confusion over charges, it landed in the “decent, but not again” category for me.
