“Great hotel”

Great central location for tourists. Rooms beautiful! Honestly couldn't fault the decor, cleanliness and quality of sleep. We were on the 12th floor and very quiet. The hotel is on the edge of the tenderloin district so homelessness etc around the hotel but we didn't feel unsafe. Would recommend.

I had an unexpected arrival to the Timbri after some travel plans had changed last minute. I arrived feeling quite overwhelmed until I met Mia on arrival who put me at ease straight away. Both Mia & Monica really made me feel at home and were very helpful throughout my 4 night stay. I really hope these two ladies are acknowledged for their efforts. The hotel itself was lovely, my room was quiet (back part of hotel). The rooftop was a nice treat and escape from the hustle of downtown. The location is very close to the cable car and walking into the heart of Union Square. The tenderloin is at the doorstep, however the hotel does have security guards 24/7. My only thing to note as a solo female traveller, I personally didn't feel comfortable walking around at night, which did make my evenings a little more limited. I know the locals say it's gotten a lot better which is great. Overall, the Timbri was a great hotel with fantastic service & I would recommend to other travellers.

just returned from a month long tour of usa cities and this was the best hotel by far, staff were so friendly and helpful, facilities were great and very modern inc a very good free gym. there is a café, rooftop bar, and ,restaurant and they give you a 15 dollar credit off the tourist tax to spend inhouse. the area it is situated is not the best (where can you really guarantee total safety in tourist areas these days ?) and although we walked home each night i would suggest a a taxi would be the best/safest option for most people returning. i only mention this as it might be a concern to some people but it certainly wouldn't put me off using this hotel again as it really is lovely. it has fulltime security and valet outside and the staff deserve special praise for going that bit further to look after us, also extra mention for eduardo on reception who answered all our questions, put our mind at ease regarding location, and generally looked after us, nothing was too much trouble, thanks again guys

The hotel staff/security downstairs were great. The hotel was clean and rooms were nice. We had to switch rooms because there was a mold issue but that got handled right away. My biggest complaint was the food and service at the rooftop bar. Being in the restaurant business myself, I understand how challenging it can be but there really can be zero excuse for cold, mediocre food and service at their price point. For example, we had the Fried chicken and biscuits. The chicken was coke and previously fried and then heated back up. It was soggy and not good. Another pet peeve of mine and maybe it’s not one everyone would share but…I cannot stand it when the bartenders pour a 22 dollar glass of cab in a small white wine glass. Oy. The female bartender needs to learn how to interact with her guests. She seemed pissed off at the mere presence of any customer. She was unread really rude. Make my husband and I feel uncomfortable. When we were down at our dinner table, our server was nice enough, but the lack of attention to the table was quite obvious. There was no check up on us to see how our food was, or more water poured, and we sat with our dinner plates in front of us for probably 45 minutes before they were taken away. Like I said, I’m in the business so maybe I’m nitpicking, but these are definitely things that you can help your staff out with. It’s just not that difficult to give great service with your price points.
