“Great place to stay on San Luis Obispo”

This was a second stay at this hotel and enjoyed our entire stay. The rooms, amenities, location, cleanieness and being pet friendly make it a 10/10 for us. We'll definitely be back.

“Great place, close enough to down town”

Great place, close enough to down town. We went as two couples and, since we took the train, didn't have a acar but it was ok. We were able to walk to where we wanted to go and took the bus to the Madonna Inn. Used Uber and LYFY to get to and from the train station.

My husband and I stay in SLO every year to teach a summer course at Cal Poly for a week. We switched from the dorms to Quality Suites SLO in 2003 because at that time we had small kids and they loved the room, the pool, the "happy hour" with sodas, and the DVDs you could check out of the gift shop when the rooms had DVD players. We have seen upgrades over the years within the rooms that are beautiful. The property itself is impeccably maintained. This year was our 20th time staying there for a week in the summer. (We taught virtually during the pandemic and had to skip one year due to illness.) Over the years many other instructors for our program followed our lead and stayed there as well. This year we had other rooms that were booked by other instructors because we recommended the hotel. Unfortunately this year we had a problem with the assistant general manager over housekeeping and she suggested that next year we look at other hotel options. Is she right? Should we switch? On Sunday July 19, 2026, after two nights of our stay, we did not receive housekeeping. We had been gone since 11:30am and removed the do not disturb sign when we left. When we returned at 3:30 the room hadn't been made up. I contacted the front desk and was assured housekeeping would take care of our room. When guests at this location have the do not disturb sign on the housekeepers will slip a note under the door. There wasn't a note. We returned late that evening and the room hadn't been touched. I let the front desk know by calling later that night. Then on Monday, July 20 the same thing happened. We removed the sign at 11:30 and by 3:00 the room had not been touched. So I called the front desk again and asked to speak to the manger. I was transferred to a woman who stated she is the assistant general manager. She came across immediately defensive interrupting me repeatedly to tell me we hadn't removed the do not disturb sign. I reminded her that there was no note but I do not think she heard me because she again stated we left the sign out. At that point she told e how rude I was and suggested another hotel might be a better fit if I was so unhappy after staying there for so many years. “Needs some attention”

This modest property needs a little more attention to maintenance. Room carpets need cleaning, damaged pool chairs need replacing and convenience foods were overpriced.
