We took a short family trip to Sara Barbara. We stood at this hotel because it was the most affordable for that weekend and we usually have a good experience with this chain of hotels. Had a rough start with the morning staff but when we received our keys, with the afternoon staff, they were extremely helpful and nice. They gave us complementary water bottles when we checked in and they had some in the room. We got the two queen bed room and they were a really good size with plenty of room to move around and open our luggage. We are a family of four so we appreciate a big room. The room was really clean and it came with keurig machine and refrigerator!! Location is great, it’s between 5-10 min to downtown and the beach. I was surprised that they don’t have complementary breakfast but they do offers coffee and a water bottle refill station all day. They also have a restaurant on site. Would definitely stay here again

Arrived at this Hotel, first time here, usually stay at courtyard when we come into work here. Greeted by a nice Gal, Catherine I believe her name was. She gave us water, info on property, where not to park as you will be towed.. my colleague and I settled into two rooms, parking close to rooms with parking permit on dashboard as instructed. Went to work, came back and could not find 1 spot on the property, 1:00am. Approached the front desk attendant about the problem.. he said park on the street.. problem here is one has to get up and move the car every 90min , after 9am or you’ll be ticketed. I found a handicap spot open, parked there, walked in and advised him thinking he would let us park there as many hotels would do in this situation. The conversation went south from there.. Those spots are reserved.. he said.. I agreed but isn't my spot reserved? He said do you want me to tow your car? I said no and if i have to get up and move my car every 90 minutes, ill find another hotel. He said your call, i said you just made that decision for me. I parked on the street, walked the property and found 15 cars without a parking pass on the dash.. obviously this property has no enforcement of their lot. If you are a taxi , uber customer looking at this hotel. No problem.. If you are driving a car.. be advised you will have issues. This morning i went to move my car off the street. 1 spot in their lot had opened.. I was lucky. For another 50.00 a night, the Hampton 6 mi out would be a better choice, free breakfast and a guaranteed place to park. Disgruntled 23 year traveler
