I wanted to take a moment to recognize Lisa for the exceptional service she provided during our recent stay at The Leta while visiting for my son's UCSB graduation. Graduation weekend brought an enormous number of visitors to town, and the hotel was completely full and, I imagine, incredibly busy. Despite that, Lisa took the time to personally address all of my questions and concerns with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. She went far beyond simply assisting with our reservation. Lisa provided valuable advice on how to avoid the heavy stop-and-go traffic associated with graduation events, recommended local sites and activities for our family to enjoy, and even helped us secure reservations at the hotel's on-site restaurant. Her attention to detail and willingness to help made a significant difference in our experience. I have traveled extensively, stayed in hotels around the world, and experienced service at many luxury properties. The level of hospitality Lisa provided was equal to that of the finest five-star hotels I have visited. Her warmth, knowledge, and commitment to guest satisfaction were truly outstanding. What surprised me most was learning at checkout that Lisa is new to both the hospitality industry and the hotel. I would never have guessed it. She conducted herself with the confidence, professionalism, and skill of a seasoned hospitality expert. Lisa was nothing short of exceptional, and she deserves recognition for the positive impact she had on our stay. Employees like her are the reason guests return and enthusiastically recommend a hotel to others. A great find. I will return.

“Retro style hotel/motel near Santa Barbara”

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Santa Barbara (it’s about a 12 minute drive to SB). This property has more of a retro, mid-century feel, kind of like a motel (it’s 1-2 stories with rooms exiting to the outdoors) but has been renovated (it reminds me of the places in Palm Springs). We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Santa Barbara (it’s about a 12 minute drive to SB). This property has more of a retro, mid-century feel, kind of like a motel (it’s 1-2 stories with rooms exiting to the outdoors) but has been renovated (it reminds me of the places in Palm Springs). Good restaurant on site (we had breakfast there one day). Small vinyl listening room in the lobby if you’re into that :). Theres also a good Thai restaurant (and 1-2 coffee shops) across the street to the west. Not a luxury property but room was fine (although we did hear the cleaning carts rolling on the concrete floor in the morning…it would be nice if they found a quieter way of doing that). Parking is $20/night but FYI there is regular street parking surrounding the property.

“More like a motel”

The Good: clean, cute and tasteful decor. The Bad: no soundproofing, charging $20/night for parking despite having a vast, open parking lot. There was no fan in the bathroom. Room had a stale smell. The Good: clean, cute and tasteful decor. The Bad: no soundproofing, charging $20/night for parking despite having a vast, open parking lot. There was no fan in the bathroom. Room had a stale smell. Could hear our neighbors watching TV, using toilet, etc. we were awoken several times during the night by very loud yelling. While checking out, I asked the front desk employee if he knew what had been going on in the middle of the night with all the screaming. Before I could even finish my sentence he quickly said “I wasn’t here. I’ve been off for 3 days”. No “sorry that you had noise issues” or even acknowledging what I was telling him. My husband and I left disappointed in our stay at the Leta and both felt it was more motel than hotel for what we paid. Our stay was over $800 for 2 nights after tax and parking.
