I stayed here for three nights. It was much better than a previous stay. The property received the renovation it sorely needed. The room was small, but well-designed: comfortable bed, good lighting, big desk, lots of closet space and drawers for stuff. The bathroom was newly renovated, too, with a nice shower with excellent water pressure and nice products. Hallways and public spaces were in great condition. The little pantry on each floor is a nice touch and the coffee machine made tastier coffee than expected. The fridge was stocked with water, though it would often run out by the end of the day. A few snacks would be a nice addition. Staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Sleep was generally good, save for one thing--ask for a room that's away from the guest laundry. Mine was near the laundry, and one night another guest seemingly did laundry all night long--and you could hear the whooshing and rhythm of the machines, which was annoying. The hotel could soundproof this better or ask people to not do laundry after 10pm or so. Parking's okay--you park in a visitor garage not far from the entrance, and you just pay by the hour; the max rate ($15) is pretty reasonable. I had never had trouble finding a space. As for location, you have to know what you're getting into. This is a hotel on the campus of Wash U. It's a beautiful campus and a lovely place to go for a walk, etc.; obviously, if you have business on the campus, the location cannot be beat. However, it's a good walk or drive to restaurants, shopping, stores, etc. Overall, a good stay. I'd certainly return.

Location is on WashU campus, just across the courtyard from the School of Business. Very convenient if you are visiting the campus. Room was decent, nothing fancy. We noticed a spider on one of the beds when we arrived, but other than that the room appeared clean. Service was spotty, some front desk staff helpful and others not. Breakfast was a deal— only $11 for a simple buffet (bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit, pastries, yogurt). I personally like having more variety so it was not to my liking. This may be a decent option, based on location— just don’t expect luxury.
