We have had the pleasure of spending several weekends at the Broadmoor over the last 15 years. It is truly a MAGICAL place. 5,000 acres of beauty, elegance and history. This weekend was another memorable one. The beauty of this property lies in the details. There is a reason it is THE longest standing 5 star hotel in N America. Their excellence is consistent in delivering superior customer service, luxury amenities and quality accommodations. Driving into the property we are always struck by the beautiful grounds with blooming florals and overflowing baskets from the light fixtures. Valets are always friendly and full of fun Broadmoor facts. Ours latest had been employed for 31 years. Our room this visit was in the West building with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The view was spectacular! The rooms are stately and elegant. First class linens, comfortable down bedding and every imaginable amenity. Corner seating area with 2 comfy chairs and leather ottoman. I enjoyed the magazines describing the Broadmoor and their sister property Sea Island. Nespresso coffee station & fridge was helpful. We spent 3 full days which allowed us to explore so many spots. The beauty of the Broadmoor remains their variety of cozy yet breathtaking areas to get comfortable. (both inside and out). The seating inside is full of over stuffed chairs, ottomans, fireplaces and views. Outside are benches, fire pits and amazing views! We enjoyed The Bar both inside and the lakeside patio. It can not be beat! Table side snacks..spiced pistachios & crackers and drinks with a sidecar! Get a martini just to see the beauty of the martini glass stemware. We always make a trip to the Golden Bee to enjoy the table side pub cheese & crackers. Their fish and chips are fabulous. Ristorante Del Lago has a lovely lakeside view, yummy olive oil and an extensive Italian wine list. And a trip to the Tavern is not complete without their French onion soup complete with gold scissors to cut through the golden cheese on top. We were able to finally visit Seven Falls on this trip as it had been closed on our last 2 visits. It was a beautiful day and a great way to spend the afternoon. Lunch at 1858 was delicious. We have traveled the world and will ALWAYS come back to the Broadmoor for its first class service, amazing beauty and their love of its storied history. The consistency of the service it delivers is unmatched. We are forever fans!

“Historic beauty, but so overpriced.”

I stayed here as part of a President's Club trip with my husband's company. As a Travel Advisor, who does travel a good bit I was excited to stay at this historic hotel. My first impression was that it was grand and had beautiful old luxury. Check-in was convenient, and while our room wasn't ready, she did get us all set up for a quick text message later in the afternoon. The bellman was lovely, we had a gentleman who had worked here for a long time from Jamaica "Mon" and he gave us a great overview of the property. You could tell he took great pride in the property's history and his job with them. I would have preferred to stay here in better weather, to be able to enjoy the pool and water activities, but we didn't get to choose the time of the year for the trip. The room was comfortable, lots of space, comfortable bed and amenities. We were in a Superior room with great views but unfortunately didn't have a balcony. Housekeeping while they seemed to always be in the room when we wanted to come back in from a long day, was maybe a bit short staffed when large groups would come/go, but our room felt clean. My largest complaint was the food & beverage here. Everything is immediately slapped with a 20% gratuity charge. Even just grabbing a bagel & coffee, which would cost over $20. Grab a water, 20%, same on a glass of wine. I just found it to be excessive on already overpriced things, and especially annoying when service was slow and not great at dining and bar venues. We didn't eat any larger meals here outside of our events except lunch at the Golf Club which was nice on both occasions. Breakfast brunch we noticed was $110/pp before the 20% .... We had an event at their onsite lodge, which was very nice, food was great. My Spa was disappointing. It was an inclusion in my trip, but I knew what it cost and definitely wasn't worth it. I did enjoy the oxygen room though! Guest services were very efficient, as were the main bellman helping with some laundry and local shopping. Overall, it was okay. It's not a place I'd run back too but would also be along with the destination. Just very overpriced for all the extras.
