Homewood Suites By Hilton Denver West - Lakewood

This newly renovated hotel is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is very good. Very friendly staff, greet you with a smile and make you feel at home. I definitely recommend.

Lifetime Diamond Member here. My wife and I have stayed here before, twice with better experiences. I'm not big on being greeted with status, but sometimes that makes a difference. It did this time. I had had a long travel day, had no GPS or internet either (including phone). I spent the better part of an hour driving around Lakewood trying to find the place. When I called the front desk for directions, they could not help. I told them my street location. That was no good. I guess they didn't have internet access either (more later on that). I finally get to the hotel (after retracing my steps from a place I did know). No eye contact, smile, greeting from the two ladies at the front desk. They just asked my name. I was handled professionally anyway. I had a zoom conference the next day from my room. The internet goes down in my room anyway. I go to the front desk, they cannot help- minimal but professional effort. I eventually walk over to the Home2Suites next door and they are able to fix the problem. However, by that time the call is cancelled b/c I could not attend. That was the first of two stays. I left for altitude with my wife the next day after picking her up at the airport. Alas, I got altitude sickness and the flu later that day. My wife had to drive me back and we got a room at the hotel for another two nights. My wife was greeted the same way I was and they didn't even give her the complimentary waters. She had to come back down and ask for them. My wife went back to altitude for the two days. Fortunately, Keith and Erin tried to step up to the plate. I needed some Tylenol (not other stuff) and/or Ny-Quil. They did not have it at the front desk. However, she called the Home2Suites and the adjacent Hampton to see if they had any. They did not, but she even offered to use her DoorDash/Uber Eats to get something for me (I have no such accounts or apps). She tried, but I had no cash to reimburse her and there was no ATM at any of the 3 Hilton properties. She gets an A+ though for her service! I asked for late checkout (normal time is noon) as my wife was driving back from altitude to pick me up. One of the two ladies at the front from before reluctantly gave me until 1230P after I revealed my Lifetime Diamond status. Fortunately, Keith was there and he remembered me from a visit 3.5 months ago. He quickly agreed to 1PM which was critical for us. Thank you, Keith. I would like to think that this is just training the staff issue; but we will likely look at Home2Suites the next time we are in Lakewood, despite the good breakfast at Homewood.
