I recently stayed at the Marriott in a two-bedroom suite with my 90+ year-old mother. While there were some positives during our stay, there were also areas that need significant improvement, especially regarding accessibility for elderly and disabled guests. Positives: The highlight of our stay was Matthew, the night desk attendant, who went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant. He was attentive and responsive to our needs, which made a big difference. The hotel itself was very clean, and while the elevator showed some wear and tear, it was understandable given that it’s the only one available for both staff and guests. Negatives: However, there were several issues that Marriott needs to address. When booking, I specifically searched for a two-bedroom suite that would accommodate my elderly mother. Unfortunately, none of the two-bedroom suites offer ADA accommodations; only the one-bedroom suites have these amenities. This was problematic, as my mother has mobility and vision issues, and the hotel did not seem equipped to meet her needs. I requested toilet grab bars for the suite from a day shift attendant, Maria, who didn’t follow up on my request. I had to remind her the next day, and she then asked a housekeeper using a translation app. This lack of communication and follow-through was disappointing. The two-bedroom suite we stayed in had very low toilets with no grab bars, making it difficult for elderly or disabled guests to use the bathroom safely. Marriott should consider installing taller toilets and grab bars in all rooms, or at the very least, provide portable grab bars that can be set up for guests upon request. In addition to the room’s issues, the handicapped parking area was not well maintained. The sidewalk had significant cracks, holes, and uneven surfaces, posing a tripping hazard. There was a metal grating adjacent to the parking space that was unlevel and could easily catch a wheelchair or walker wheel. These conditions are unsafe and need immediate attention. The yellow lines marking the handicapped spaces should also be repainted and maintained regularly. On another note, there was an incident involving a barking dog from 6 PM until 2 AM. Fortunately, Tabitha from the front desk addressed the issue by moving some guests to resolve the noise problem. I had a chance to discuss some of these accessibility concerns with the General Manager and suggested a few improvements, such as installing grab bars in all rooms and repairing the parking area and sidewalk. I emphasized that this hotel is reasonably priced and attracts many elderly guests and families traveling with loved ones who have mobility issues. Simple improvements could significantly enhance the guest experience and show a stronger commitment to accommodating this demographic. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Room 205, but it’s clear that Marriott needs to make upgrades to its two-bedroom suites and common areas to better serve guests with disabilities and elderly travelers. With some minor changes, Marriott could greatly improve accessibility and, ultimately, customer satisfaction across its Residence Inn properties.

We booked our stay several months ago to attend a concert at Red Rocks (The Head and The Heart.) We had researched a few hotels that were as close to Red Rocks as possible within our price range. We found this Residence Inn that was within 20 minutes or less from RR. When we pulled up, the front main entrance was very welcoming and inviting. We were happy to browse the main lobby areas while waiting to check in. Everything looked great from the lobby/dining area for breakfast, the gym, pool and outdoor seating area with a gas grill. Our room was on the first floor a trek from the main lobby, but it was nice being close to the parking lot and it was nice being able to access our room from the exit door near the lot. And we could use our key card to get in. Felt safe too. We were happy to see a full kitchen, with standard equipment like cups, plates, bowls, silverware, etc. the only spices that were available were salt and pepper. If I could make a recommendation, either bring or purchase an oil based product if you plan on cooking. We went grocery shopping and were able to keep items in the freezer and fridge. That was pretty great. We wanted to only eat out a few times while in town and cook for ourselves so that worked out well. The continental breakfast was pretty good. A nice variety. Happy to see gluten free muffin options. The bed was comfy and the pillows were exactly what we like. The a/c was nice, kept us nice and cool and the thermostat worked well. Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay and would be back! The only downside was that we had problems with the television. When we would turn it on the screen would remain dark and would not be watchable. We notified the front desk on Sunday but no one from maintenance would be able to come look at it till Monday. Monday morning came along and someone came by, it worked again very briefly until they left and then it didn’t work again until we checked out Tuesday morning. It was a bit annoying, but they were apologetic about it. We’d still stay here again for sure. Definitely recommend this Inn if you’re planning a trip to RR for a show.

“Solid family hotel for Littleton CO”

The building and rooms are looking a little tired and sadly there are not restaurants nearby that one can walk to. That being said, the breakfast was good, the bed comfortable and the price reasonable. Solid place to stay if you need to be in the Lakewood / Littleton area.
