We had a fabulous stay at the Four Seasons Vail over Thanksgiving. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, everything was taken care of seamlessly — as you would expect from a property of this calibre. At check-in, Clarice at reception was absolutely brilliant — warm, professional, and incredibly helpful in showing us to our room and explaining how everything worked. Breakfast at Traviata was a daily pleasure; Elizabeth and Eve were wonderful — friendly, efficient, and attentive, and the food was delicious. However, the place we truly fell in love with was Remedy Bar. The atmosphere, vibe, service, and food are all phenomenal! Nicole, at the front of house, deserves special recognition — she is truly exceptional. Despite the constant buzz and popularity of the bar, she manages everything with grace, speed, and a genuine smile, making each guest feel valued. Carlos, one of the managers, and Magda were equally fantastic, ensuring every visit was memorable. Do try their hot chocolate! Lyka at the Chalet also stood out with her warmth and wonderful service. The Chalet is the perfect spot to relax before or after skiing — don’t miss it! We did attend the Thanksgiving celebration lunch, which unfortunately was disappointing, especially at $250/person. It was held in a ballroom with little atmosphere, and the food didn’t match the otherwise exceptional standards of the resort. The only real low point of our stay was the spa. Sadly, it was the opposite of the relaxing, luxurious experience we had anticipated. I had a reaction to one of their facial products and eventually had to leave mid-treatment. Despite my face showing a clear reaction, I was initially only offered a 30% discount. It took speaking to two managers for the issue to be properly resolved — thank you to the manager at our final hotel checkout who handled it swiftly and professionally. Unfortunately, the spa reception staff were dismissive of my concern, and the spa manager could certainly learn a great deal about true customer service from the outstanding team at Remedy Bar. Despite that experience, the hotel overall is fantastic — beautifully appointed, perfectly located, and staffed by people who genuinely care. The vast majority of the team made our stay exceptional, and we would absolutely return (though likely skip the spa next time!). A truly special place with world-class service — and one of the best après-ski atmospheres in Vail.

I’ll be the first to admit — I can be difficult to please when my stress levels are high. When life gets heavy, I start to view every conversation like a battle, and I walk into situations bracing for something to go wrong. That’s just the truth. But what the team at Four Seasons Vail did for my family and me broke through all of that. They didn’t just deliver great service; they delivered something human. Something grounding. Something we genuinely needed more than we realized. The hospitality here isn’t simply “high-end” or “luxury.” It feels like a reset. A breath you didn’t know you were missing. The kind of experience that makes you slow down, let go, and be present with the people you love. And that is rare. They’re creating the kind of moments that stay with families long after the trip ends. Our stay at Four Seasons Vail wasn’t just a getaway. It was a pause in the middle of a storm. It gave us space to breathe, reconnect, and just be again. This place is special. Not because it’s luxurious, but because the people inside it make you feel human again. If you’re considering a stay — just go. It might give you more than you’re expecting.

There are so many wonderful things to say about this beautiful hotel. The setting is truly stunning — especially the view of the shimmering pool from the restaurants, which is absolutely breathtaking. The spa is impeccably presented and offers an excellent experience. Staff throughout the hotel were consistently attentive, courteous, and eager to help. Our bedroom was finished to an exceptionally high standard, featuring a super-king bed, roaring fireplace, blackout blinds, and complete tranquillity. The L’Occitane products were a luxurious touch. We did, however, experience low water pressure and a somewhat clunky shower tap, so the freestanding bath proved the better option when time allowed. The spa facilities were superb: single-sex saunas, aromatic eucalyptus steam rooms, a plunge pool, and an enormous jacuzzi, all complemented by a communal relaxation area offering warming teas and healthy snacks. A special mention must go to Sandy at the spa desk, whose friendly and welcoming manner made each visit a pleasure. There are just a few areas where the experience could be elevated even further. The food, while beautifully presented, did not quite meet the standard we have come to expect from other Four Seasons properties. On our first evening, the half chicken was rather bland. The following night, the lobster linguine, despite containing a generous amount of lobster, was let down by pasta that was not al dente and by a tomato-based sauce containing a surprising amount of celery, which overwhelmed the delicate seafood. A lighter touch with white wine, garlic, lemon — even a hint of chilli — might have brought the dish closer to a more traditional Italian preparation. The lamb ragù also felt imbalanced, with the rigatoni outweighing the sauce. Breakfast, on the other hand, was consistently delightful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were divine, the green juice refreshing, and the avocado toast truly fantastic — though improvements could be made by serving it on a thinner, well-toasted ciabatta or high-quality sourdough rather than the cold bread provided. The balsamic pearls were an excellent addition. The iconic Haute Chocolate experience by the roaring fire was a highlight, made even better by our lovely waitress, Denni. The chalet, a short walk from the main building, was another standout feature — a warm and inviting space to store skis and boots, recharge, and enjoy an impressive selection of high-quality snacks and drinks by the fire. Travelling with friends, we found ourselves wishing for a cosy lounge or bar area to relax in after dinner. Many top hotels offer an intimate evening setting with bar service, and the lobby here, though elegant, lacked the atmosphere for this purpose as it doubles as the check-in area. In conclusion, this was still an excellent stay, and the visual beauty of the hotel is truly remarkable. With a few refinements — particularly in the dining experience and evening ambience — it has the potential to be outstanding.

We made reservations for a Christmas lunch after skiing Vail and couldn’t wait to experience Vail FS. The decorations were fabulous and as to be expected, it was quite the scene (and a bit of a wait, even though we had reservations). After seeing the Baked Colorado Goat Cheese on social media, I knew that was a definite to order (even at $32 for a starter). The problem is, when our goat cheese arrived it was 1/2 rind which is disgusting and not worth the price (see pic, it’s filling the right side of the plate. Not only did they not give us any sort of new appetizer, they didn’t even offer a discount or apology. My spouses burger and fries were great, my quinoa salad was overpriced. I was dying to order the World Famous Haut Chocolate - which after watching dozens go by was a show stopper, worthy of all the social media videos. Sadly they didn’t have a milk alternative option so I had to pass but that would be a definite order. I wish I could say the same for the baked goat cheese appetizer we were served. We’ve been to dozens of Four Seasons resorts around the world (our favorite with impecable service, food, and the resort is Nevis) but this was a bit of a disappointment.
