While no trip is without a few hiccups, Hilton Anatole staff (Barry, Bianca, Larry, EVERYONE) took great care of us. We booked two Tower Rooms and requested connecting rooms for a weekend stay. We arrived and checked in early. The other half of the party arrived an hour or so later, but we were not given connecting rooms. We asked if there was anyway they could accommodate us and Barry made it happen. We did need to move to the atrium, which was not ideal with 4 kids and the LONG walk to Jadewaters, but it was more important for the cousins to spend time together. Our new rooms did not have enough beds for us (King Rm and a double Queen Rm), however Barry made sure we had roll away beds to accommodate the children. Bianca helped us move our things from the Tower to the Atrium. I will say that the Atrium is WAY past due on a room remodel. Old and VERY outdated. The lighting in the room was horrible. I would've preferred the Tower Room as I had booked, but we were not there for the room and honestly, it gave us so much more space for the kids. Our view of Dallas was perfect which the kids really enjoyed. Hilton had several large conferences and several events going on, so I understand accommodating our request was not an easy thing and I appreciate their help making things right. We were certainly willing to meet them half way. Next time, I will not move to the atrium, I will reconfirm a few days before if I absolutely need a connecting room. The staff at the Media Bar & Grill were very helpful. The buffet was wonderful. Our package included a free kids meal with a paid adult. With 4 adults and 4 kids this worked out perfectly. Christina made the best omelets and huevo rancheros. The kids (Age 9 to 4) thought the buffet was amazing especially the chocolate croissants and the waffles. We ate so much for breakfast, we just snacked for lunch. Yes, there are a lot of fees, but that is typical for a downtown hotel of this caliber and a conference center. Jadewaters was a hit! Our stay was early in the season, it felt like we had the waterpark to ourselves. What a spectacular Cousin Reunion. The kids had not seen each other in several years due to the military. The lifeguards at Jadewater were very attentive. I will agree that food and drinks were very expensive. Again, it was expected. However, the kids meals at Media Bar & Grill are about $10 each. Adult meals, we had a burger for $25, expensive but the convenience of picking it up at Media and taking it to the room to eat was well worth it. We skipped Room Service to save the fees and tip. Just walk down, order and take it to go. We brought our own drinks and snacks for the room. The swim up bar and snack bar at Jadewaters is definitely expensive, but again expected. No different from any other amusement venue. Hilton Anatole is a great place for a staycation or quick visit to Dallas. Very convenient to Medieval Times (I was not a fan! but the kids loved it.) and downtown attractions. All the grandkids gave our stay a two thumbs up! When you add up the cost and consider all the amenities, we felt it was a great value. Where else were we going to have a day at a waterpark practically to ourselves with our hotel room right there. We feel we would've paid a lot more and not had the same hospitality provided us by the Hilton staff had we gone to Wet n Wild, Six Flags, or some other amusement venue.
