This hotel has everything you need. We’ve stopped here a few times over the past few years, and while we always enjoy ourselves, this was our favourite stay so far. Easy beach access, beautiful pool, clean rooms and beds, a restaurant, and bar on site. They’ve had a renovation since we were last here and the rooms are tasteful and no longer smell slightly musty. Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff (thanks Emily!) and we were able to get a cart and park easily just across the street. We immediately were able to get down to the beach and pool. We had a late lunch at the restaurant, and while I wouldn’t recommend it for dinner over the seafood offerings in town, the margarita flatbread and teriyaki wings hit the spot while we overlooked the ocean. Thank you to Ben who served us our lunch and some drinks, and was super helpful and pleasant. We had a large group of young guys in the rooms directly next to us, and we could hear them when we were in the hallways, but once we got into the room we didn’t hear anything - it was VERY quiet. Slept for a solid 9 hours on a fantastic mattress. 10/10, no notes. Thank you, we’ll see you guys on our next trip!

I've stayed here repeatedly over the years primarily because of the great bartender/waitresses Aimee, Susan, Kimberly and newer ones lately including Ben and Lauren. Front Desk staff are also excellent. Additionally Chris the Asst GM and Mark the kitchen manager do an excellent job of trying to provide a positive experience. The setting on the beach is excellent as are the views from many of the rooms. The cook to order breakfast is good and reasonably priced. Sadly IHG is apparently mandating a change to a Buffet breakfast service. Personally I prefer to be waited on and don't like that many guests/kids may touch/contaminate stuff. I also question the logic as their hotels now have to order extra serving equipment and incur the costs of preparing more food than would otherwise be needed. The set-up and subsequent clean-up add more costs as opposed to carrying a plate directly to a guest. How does this make sense? Similarly, IHG has apparently mandated numerous cuts to dinner menus. This restaurant did serve a good chicken dinner and the best steak I've had anywhere in years. No longer! Mandating the same menu nationally seems illogical as tastes vary across the country. One can see the shrimp boats at night from the Seaside Restaurant here but no longer order shrimp. That's like not serving steak in Texas. I also like breakfast lasting until 11 am. Restaurant and Bar hours also good, although management occasionally closes one or both at night if hotel occupancy rate is relatively low.. This however angers the remaining guests, all to save perhaps $100.? In mid Feb, 3 of us (including 2 Diamond members) were having cocktails only to discover no Chef on duty! Other guests had also been disappointed. The closure continued for a few nights, with no notice on the website. I only stay in hotels with restaurants in order to avoid driving at night and also to meet other travelers. Closing it sporadically more than offsets the good service staff referenced above. Room TVs: Good size screens that swivel, unlike in many hotels. While there are many channels to choose from, the channel numbers on the TV Guide channel differ widely from reality. The only way to find the program listed on the Guide is generally to scroll through dozens of channels to actually find the stated network.
