We booked our stay as a last minute vacation. We had a room with 2 queen beds and a small patio space outside the room (#120). The room was nice, but a little cramped. The only chair was the desk chair. That meant laying on the beds to watch TV or relax. If you plan to spend time in the room, you may want to consider a room with more space to chill. The beds were comfortable, but they seemed small for a queen. We have a queen size bed at home, and we never felt as cramped as we were. We ended up each taking a bed so we had a little more room. The little patio space was nice to have in the morning. We could sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee before taking off for the day. We also sat out a little in the evening before calling it a night. The patio space has a nice view of the pool. The pool wasn't that bad. However we didn't get to spend time there as we were on the beach most of the time. The breakfast was very good. They have a variety of the main items--different eggs, sausage and potatoes. The mixed fruit was very good. They also have cold cereal, waffles, bagles and toast. Coffee and tea were available 24 hours a day. The hotel is close to the trolley that runs to the beach. It runs a couple times an hour and is very cheap. We paid $1.00 each way for the 2 of us. If you're driving, this is way cheaper as parking is expensive and at a premium in the beach area. The only drawback we found with the location is the lack of places to eat. There's a couple of restaurants nearby, however they close at 8pm. When we checked in it was after 8 so that meant eating at Taco Bell, which is right across the street. Walmart is also within walking distance to get snacks or the beverage of your choice. If you're thinking about staying in Fort Myers Beach, you won't go wrong staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites.

Recently renovated rooms and common areas resemble a Home2 experience more than the Hampton Inn traditional vibe. Photos on the hotel website are accurate in showing the modernized lobby, breakfast area, guest rooms, and pool. Guest rooms have updated bathroom fixtures, comfortable mattresses and furniture, adequate lighting, and a mini-kitchen area with small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Parking was ample, location easy to access, convenient access to Walmart within one block walk and to restaurants. Minutes drive to Sanibel bridge, Ft. Myers Beach, and I-75. Front desk staff were very helpful. Would have rated this hotel a 5 except the breakfast that was bragged about was quite disappointing. By 8:00 AM supplies were low even with the attendant replenishing. The paper plates were not coated so any wet or steamy foods soaked through the paper. The plastic cutlery was flimsy There was one quart pitcher of milk for cereal (3 choices) but none designed for drinking a glass. One small bowl of canned fruit. The hot food options were limited and no eggs one day. The waffles were in full supply however! It was adequate but it was nothing to write home about.

“Nice Stay”

Not far from the beach itself. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Dog friendly rooms. Close to shuttle bus station for the beach which cost 35 cents. There is a laundry nearby and the beach itself is not far. Reasonable rates and plenty of parking.

For a trip to the beach the location can’t be beat and it is clean, comfortable place to rest your head. We stayed here recently for a quick getaway to Sanibel because Sanibel hotel prices were $$$ and the hotel served that purpose very well. Room was very spacious and clean (minus the tiny ants in the bathroom, which is a common problem in Florida). Bathroom set up is a little strange with only 2 hooks to hang items on. Had to go down to the first floor for a working ice machine and elevator is very slow. Location is quiet with plenty of food options in walking distance, a Walmart with anything you could need right next door. and it is a quick, easy drive to the bridge to get to Sanibel. Unfortunately the free breakfast was greatly lacking. When my husband went downstairs at 8 all they had was some bread, peanut butter, cereal (fruit loops, Cheerios & Raisin Bran) waffle batter, and bananas. By the time I made it downstairs at 9:45 they were out of waffle batter. At no point did they ever have coffee or any other drink whatsoever besides milk (which was constantly empty because people were using it for cereal). Another guest told me they hadn’t had coffee for the last 3 days. Juice machine appeared to be broken as it had sticky notes over the drink choices. They didn’t even have any water. I asked the two people at the front desk if I could please have water. Lady seemed bothered by my request and said there was water “down the hallway, around the corner.” Man was nicer and handed me a cold water bottle. I inquired about the lack of food to an employee in the breakfast area and was told were waiting on a truck but it was pretty much 10 am at that point so we gave up and made the short drive to McDonald’s. If they advertised breakfast and had none really someone could’ve at least ran next door to Walmart and brought over some pastries and donuts. Overall I’d say it’s a good hotel for a quick getaway but don’t count on eating their breakfast.
