Cold weather isn't hotel's fault, but high room price during low(ish) season...especially when half of the building was under renovation wasn't that nice of a surprise. Cold weather isn't hotel's fault, but high room price during low(ish) season...especially when half of the building was under renovation wasn't that nice of a surprise. Room itself was spacious enough and balcony towards to sea was real nice. Location is quite OK, famous pier and many other hotels, bars and restaurants are all pretty close. Complimentary breakfast was OK and decent looking pool area we had skip this time.

“Ok Despite Terrible Employee”

Spent Easter weekend here. Overall, it was a fine stay, although definitely crowded as other reviews say. Chairs were claimed very quickly by the pool even by 9am. Spent Easter weekend here. Overall, it was a fine stay, although definitely crowded as other reviews say. Chairs were claimed very quickly by the pool even by 9am. Somehow we did manage one chair for my mom and I for our 2 beach/pool days. This area was overrun by kids. The beach was great, don't need water shoes unlike our beaches in NC which make your feet hurt from all the shells. Hardly any shells and the sand was super soft. The reason I'm writing is to make management and guests aware of Gina (dark skin, dark curly hair) at the bar. That's the name the front desk employee gave me. My mother and I were completely avoided by her 4 times as we waited to place our order. She never even spoke a word to us while she buzzed around at every other table except ours. I eventually had to go to the bar to order. A young male/female couple sat down and she brought them 2 rounds of drinks and their meal in 20 minutes time. After over 45 minutes, we still didn't receive our food. I asked Maya, bar manager, for an update and he said our food had been sitting at the bar for some time. I was never told it wouldn't be brought to us. We ate the cold meal and he placed another order for us at no charge. He did his best to make the situation correct, offering another round of drinks at no charge and apologized saying he had new employees and it was the start of the year. Gina's behavior turned us off so badly we didn't return for lunch the next day. I thought our interactions with her were done until I checked out. She was hanging at the front desk wearing sunglasses, smacking her gum and shuffling room keys in her hand when another guest so kindly made her aware that the hot tub water was very hot. Gina just replied "Ok". That was it, nothing else to say to the concerned guest and she didn't let management know immediately after. And then, another guest asks her where she could get a towel and Gina just pointed to the towels which are BEHIND the desk. She didn't offer to get them for the guest or say anything else, only pointed. This employee needs training or firing, at least 3 negative interactions in a 3-day span that I alone witnessed. I have never seen someone so unfit for customer service. Casey, at check-in was very kind and so were the housekeeping ladies. I'd probably opt for something a bit nicer for my next trip to the area. The carpet needs deep cleaning or replacement, the room stayed humid our entire visit despite lowering the temperature and there was no fan in the bathroom. Refrigerator cooled excellently.
