We got to our room and it had no curtain. There was only a see-through shade. I went to the desk and asked if something could be done about that. They said I had to wait for the maintenance man to get back from lunch. We waited. I went down again and the man was getting back. It was obvious he knew there was no curtain, but would not admit to it. He said he would go up and check it out. He came down and then we were changed rooms. We wanted a handicapped room, but by then none were available. We wasted over an hour getting situated.

I stayed at this hotel for work because it’s conveniently located and surrounded by good food options. However, my experience was far from what I expect from a Hampton Inn. Upon check-in, I was given a room that reeked of mold and mildew. The front desk agent quickly apologized and moved me to another room, which was somewhat better but still had a lingering odor. The agent mentioned that the hotel had recently experienced an air conditioning malfunction, which may explain the strong mold and mildew smell throughout the hallways and rooms. Regardless, this property clearly needs a full remodel, as well as stronger management oversight to set a better example for the staff. The dampness can be felt throughout the hotel. Breakfast was disappointing — the same items were served each day, and food was often not replenished once it ran out. It fell well below the typical Hampton Inn standard. While the evening agent who checked me in was polite and professional, the morning and overnight staff were a different story. The overnight agent was rarely visible, and the morning agent seemed disengaged. Each morning, several housekeeping staff members gathered in the lobby, speaking loudly, using profanity, and even FaceTiming while one of them was driving. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness, leaving a poor impression of the hotel’s culture and management. Overall, it was an interesting stay, but I would not return due to the lack of professionalism, the poor conditions of the rooms, and the unpleasant odor throughout the property. This hotel needs immediate attention in cleanliness, staff training, and leadership before it can truly meet the standards expected from the Hampton Inn brand.
