Returning to the Silver Palms Inn in 2026 felt incredibly special for us, as our first stay here was during our honeymoon back in 2018. We honestly wondered whether it would still feel as magical after all these years — but somehow it was even better. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. The team genuinely go above and beyond to make guests feel valued and appreciated. A bottle of champagne left in our room was such a thoughtful gesture and immediately set the tone for another unforgettable stay. What truly stood out to us this time was not just how beautiful, clean, and well-maintained the hotel still is, but how sincere and personal the customer service feels. After our stay, we received such a heartfelt email from Peter and the team thanking us for returning, and it honestly touched us. In today’s world, it’s rare to find a hotel that cares so much about its guests and remembers the importance of making people feel special. The location is absolutely perfect — peaceful and relaxing while still being within walking distance of Duval Street, restaurants, bars, and all the atmosphere that makes Key West so unique. The pool area is spotless and relaxing, the rooms are immaculate, and the whole property has such a welcoming, tropical feel. One thing we really appreciated was the consistency. Eight years later, the standards are still exceptionally high, which says everything about the people running this hotel. It’s clear they take genuine pride in what they do. Silver Palms Inn will always hold special memories for us because of our honeymoon, but returning again reminded us exactly why we fell in love with this place in the first place. “Nice place with friendly staff”

We were 3 couples staying for a week. The online reservation process was easy and email questions were promptly answered. The local nature of the inn was confirmed by the front desk people who were very nice, as were all of the help. Definitely not a corporate hotel with staff who don’t care. Parking is available although some of the spaces are very small! The common areas are simply designed and show a little wear, especially the elevators. A fresh coat of paint would help, and in fact they were doing so in the pool area while we were there. The pool was small but very nice with adequate loungers, umbrellas, and tables. A little waterfall into the pool was like a mini massage when under it, very nice. Towels are available at the pool that can be taken to the beaches. No complicated sign in/out like at bigger resorts. The rooms were spacious with good beds and nice furnishings, clean and fresh. Microwave, refrigerator, and safes in each room. Two-part bathrooms with a shower/toilet space and a sink and mirror areas. Daily housekeeping was very good. The decks were small but adequate for sitting or drying your suit. However, ours faced a side street and could be very noisy, while others faced the pool. Note that the main landing zone for the airport goes right over the city including this hotel, so that contributes to the deck noise. In any event, ask for a pool-facing deck if at all possible. Good quality coffee is available 24/7 with breakfast from 8 to 10. The indoor breakfast area provided a limited selection of cold cereal, bagels, muffins, cheese and ham slices, yogurt, OJ, milk, and a toaster. Simple with paper and plastic plates and utensils. Outside beside the pool was a cook who makes omelets to order. Nothing fancy but just fine. We found the Old Town location to be nice as it was in a residential neighborhood yet a 10-minute walk from Duval Street. Many quaint, beautifully landscaped houses everywhere. A nearby CVS, and a 15-minute walk from Higgs Beach and several good restaurants. If you don’t mind walking up to a half an hour, you really don’t need a car except for getting to Fort Zachary Taylor Beach, or New Town back toward the other Keys. We really liked this place. Yes, there is a resort fee that is a bit steep, but everything is expensive in Key West. What we liked was the friendly atmosphere, nice big rooms, a convenient breakfast, and a nice pool to cool down in at the end of the day.

This property is located on a quieter side of the Old Town. It is a ten minute walk to Duval and many of the other historic center attractions. The rooms seem to have been refurbished since my last stay, they are clean, comfortable and have a nice balcony. Service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and attentive. We arrived early and they allowed me to access my room well before the official check-in time. The hotel offers free on-site parking and will let you keep your car there for the day even if you've checked out or are checking in early..definitely a great benefit. A decent continental breakfast with an omelette/pancake station are included in the price. Despite this inclusion, one night at this hotel cost more than 3 nights in a well located, 4-star, French Quarter hotel in New Orleans. Key West prices are just outrageous and this was one of the more affordable yet decent options in the Old Town, I still think I paid way more than what it was worth. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for those who want to explore Key West by foot yet stay in a nice property that is on a calm street. You will still pay a pretty penny for the privilege of staying in Old Town but this is a solid option. I would stay here again, especially if prices go down.
