My mother and I had a fantastic one-night stay at the Fortune House Hotel before our cruise, and it was the perfect start to our vacation! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The hotel is truly beautiful, with a lovely ambiance that felt both welcoming and luxurious. Our room was wonderfully spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, which was a huge plus for packing and getting organized for the cruise. It also had every amenity we could possibly need, making our brief stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the hotel's restaurant and bar – the food was great, and the service was just as impressive. Throughout our stay, we found the entire establishment to be impeccably clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. This hotel is an ideal choice for anyone needing a comfortable, convenient, and thoroughly enjoyable stopover before their cruise. We would definitely stay here again!

Our overall experience at the hotel was underwhelming, aligning more closely with a three-star property than what was advertised. The location is somewhat remote and proved difficult to locate initially. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable lack of hospitality; staff present in the driveway did not acknowledge our presence, and there was no assistance offered with valet parking or luggage. The check-in process was delayed due to only one staff member handling a queue of guests. However, once we reached the front, the process was executed efficiently. The hotel’s WhatsApp service was responsive and addressed all our inquiries promptly, demonstrating attentiveness to guest needs. The two-bedroom penthouse appeared dated and worn, reflecting a standard more typical of a three-star accommodation. The kitchen facilities were basic, aged, and did not meet cleanliness expectations. Notably, the provided plastic utensils were of poor quality, melting during standard use and rendering them unusable. Furnishings throughout the suite were reminiscent of the 1980s and contributed to an overall sense of neglect. Additionally, the proximity of the adjacent building negatively impacted privacy and the view, as residents were visible and their presence often made us uncomfortable when opening the shades. The on-site restaurant felt outdated, and the menu offered limited quality options. Furthermore, the presence of guests vaping at a nearby table detracted from the dining environment, ultimately leading us to forgo our meal. Overall, the hotel presents itself as exceeding its actual standard, which does not align with the guest experience. Regrettably, we would not choose to stay here again, as the stay did not meet our expectations. This sense of disappointment is heightened by the premium pricing, particularly as there are numerous superior alternatives available in the area at a similar rate.
