“Love this hotel, but don't rent a boat from Joey D's!”

We have been staying at the Hyatt House twice a year for many years since we have family in Naples. Love the location and the pool!! The staff is always lovely and helpful. Tin City is within a short walking distance and we always enjoyed renting a pontoon from the on site Joey D's. The last 2 times we rented from Joey's we were given broken boats. This last time, in May turned into a major issue. We rented our boat back in December. Money was taken immediately. We arrived with family as scheduled, on a Saturday in May, to be told our boat "had issues but seems to be working for now". Five minutes out and the boat stalled in a congested area. We managed to get back to Joey's dock to be told they "shouldn't have sent us out in the first place". But, there were no other boats available. That day was planned for months and was ruined! After a family discussion concerning the logistics of work and school schedules, we rented again for Monday hoping the boat would be fixed by then, but saying we would take another boat if necessary. We asked Joey if there would be any compensation for our ruined day and he laughed and said that we were already getting a deal on the boat since gas prices had gone up since we first booked our trip. He wasn't the least bit apologetic. We asked why he rents 6 months in advance if price changes are an issue? Again, we stated that he had our money for 6 months and could at least give us a t-shirt to make amends. That's when he really got an attitude, so we left so as not to make matters worse. Sunday night I got an email that our reservation was cancelled but looking further saw a new contract for $24 less. We thought he decided to give us a small break, and had to cancel the earlier contract to do so. I sent back my signed waivers, received a confirmation and even received 2 reminder notifications on Monday morning. We gathered our family and all our stuff and went back to the dock prepared for a great day out, but instead were greeted by one of his young worker bees who told us our boat was still broken. We said we would take another one and he said "that was a gray area". When we asked what that meant he said there were no boats available. When I pulled out my phone to show him our latest contract, it was no longer there! All I had was a notification that our boat was cancelled and I would be refunded. Another day ruined by Joey D's and he didn't even have the decency to tell us himself. We stayed poolside all day and there were other pontoons that never left the dock. They had lied to us. I called the office and a lovely lady explained that he was mad at us for asking for some sort of compensation and wouldn't rent to us. Why he sent the last contract out shows you what kind of nasty person he is. I asked when to expect my refund since it was not yet showing on my credit card and was told it would take at least a week because it goes through a booking company. Seemed odd that it wasn't even listed as pending. If my money was taken within minutes 6 months ago I would think they could refund it just as quickly. By day 6, I wasn't sure if I was even going to get my money back and tried to reach out to their booking company...which was very near impossible to contact. I finally found an email address and was refunded the very next day. Needless to say, we won't be doing business with Joey D again. We did check out a couple of other boat rental companies within walking distance. Both owners were incredibly nice and told us that Joey should have borrowed a boat from another company to fulfill his contract. That would have been the professional thing to do but Joey is not interested in being professional. We look forward to our next trip down in September and renting from a company that cares about customer service!

It is so easy to have access and the music that is played in the background is very very nice from the time you were greeted your stay and the time that you leave you feel like royalty

“A clean and nice resort hotel near downtown Naples”

Overall, clean, convenient, up to date, and a nice place to stay. I appreciate a suite with kitchen and living area, and the balcony had a wonderful view. The complimentary breakfast is very well done and I recommend it!
