We booked a 6 bedroom villa at villatel for our party of 11. It was absolutely brilliant. The younger ones particularly loved the themed room with the slide and the games room. The kitchen was fully equipped although we never cooked; instead chose to eat out. Lovely starter amenities in the bathrooms and beautiful fluffy towels. A five minute walk took us to the onsite water park which was great. If I were to be picky, they could do with providing a few more areas with shade; especially around the main pool area. The on-site cafe / bar was good with huge portions. One meal would easily serve two people. The location of Villatel to the parks is excellent. We used Uber and Lyft for getting around and which were very reliable. Plenty of shopping nearby: supermarkets, liquor store, outlets and bigger malls a little further away. Some lovely restaurants nearby if you want something different to Denny’s ;although we did go to Denny’s one night and the food was lovely (but again, huge portions). I gave it 5 stars because we all loved it. The only thing they could do to make it truly 5 star is to offer a better late check out option. We were given a 12 noon checkout so we didn’t have to rush. But as we weren’t leaving till 5 pm, we had to get changed out of our wet clothes in the toilet cubicle. Perhaps have a block of small rooms with shower facilities that clients can book for 15/20 mins .

Villatel is a great resort for families to come out and stay. I would like to leave recognition for one of the waterpark employees aswell, Darius was the sweetest employee there, he is great with kids and was very upbeat and always in a good mood. Some of the other employees are kind of quiet and mean but Darius showed love to everyone and he is such a light to be around. I highly recommend if you stay here to say hi to him!! The resort also is a 10-15 minute drive from Universal and around 20 from Disney parks. Fun spot which is another amusement park is also in the area. There are several things for kids and adults to do here and I would definitely stay again!

“Best resort in Orlando”

Wow what a resort. Stayed as a family of 4 in a 3 bed apartment. Was located in block 1 overlooking the basketball and picket ball courts. Apartment was outstanding, plenty of space, great cooking facilities and finished to an exceptional standard. Reception staff were all helpful, shout out in particular to Ross and Morgan who helped us with various requests and a late complementary check out. Location was perfect for universal and disney, around $7 to universal and $9 to disney in an Uber. ITrolly stop outside the resort drive. Pool was great, plenty of sunbeds and lazy river was a great addition. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if we return to Orlando!

“Hidden costs and poorly run”

We travel a lot as a family and this was disappointing. I would not stay here again. The biggest shock was almost $40/day to park and we had 2 cars. This amounted to over $500 in unexpected expense that was mentioned nowhere in our booking. And I specifically checked parking to be sure we could have 2 cars, so I know I didn’t overlook this. The location is convenient, as advertised. Our 5 bedroom villa was clean and acceptable with a few drawbacks. The showers did not get hot- the water was warm, but never reached a temperature you’d find at any other hotel or rental. In addition, the kitchen was missing basic utensils like oven mits and spatulas. Even heating frozen pizzas was a challenge so I think cooking would be impossible. But the biggest drawback was the facilities. There is no Top Golf Swing Suite- there appears to be a rundown room that might’ve once had this, but no more. The exercise room is small and had 10-15 children barefoot and in wet swimsuits running wild on all of the equipment. It was a very dangerous situation and I reported it to the desk staff but there is no signage about minimum age or adults being present so they couldn’t do anything. So the exercise facility was 100% unusable. It was basically a dangerous playground. The pool area was very much the same. They do have a few slides but the photos are not reflective of the actual pool. I’m not sure if the photos are doctored or just flattering angles, but what we saw did not match the online photos. Overall, we’ve stayed at much nicer rental homes with theaters and well-run facilities for the same cost (and free parking). Next time we visit, we’ll definitely stay elsewhere.
