Hands down one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at a Hilton brand hotel. The first thing I see are legit pork carnitas. I look to the left and I see a taco bar setup with flour and corn tortillas, pickled jalapeños and red onions, cheese, and salsa verde. Another thing I noticed was sliced beef sausage. I’ve never seen a beef type. The manager in charge of the breakfast was very nice and explained to us that it was important to her to have unique options like this. It’s nice to see someone take such pride in what they do.

I stayed for almost a month at this hotel while I was in Atlanta for work. Here's everything you need to know... Location. Located in East Pointe/Hapeville area, this hotel is about a ten minute drive to the airport and surrounded by a myriad of low- and mid-range hotels (Drury Inn, Econolodge, Hilton, Home2Suites, Fairfield Inn, etc), fast food restaurants (McDonald's, Ruby Tuesday's, Arby's, Subway, etc.), a few bars (Malone's, Spondivits), and gas stations. It's just off of I-75 and within 30 minutes of Buckhead, Midtown, and most of Atlanta proper. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. Parking. Parking is free but it is limited. On weekend nights, I came back (late) to find no parking available and that's even with the entire first floor bank of rooms under renovation and not rented out. Security/Safety. There is a night security guard who seems to be paying attention to who comes and goes, and the area itself felt relatively safe, although it gets a little desolate after dark. Staff. Very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff and the breakfast 'ladies.' Cleanliness. Overall, the hotel and room was very clean. I was impressed at how clean it was. Amenities. There is a small indoor pool. Not ideal for lap swimming but there were kids in there that were enjoying it. There's also a free daily breakfast, a Wednesday night reception with wine and a small buffet, and an enclosed outdoor courtyard with tables where you can smoke or eat, or kids can play. There's also a conference room, small gym, and guest laundry. There are six floors and two elevators that were both fast and in working order the entire time. Rooms. The rooms are equipped with private bathrooms (showers, no tubs), a kitchenette with a range, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator with freezer and cooking supplies including a pot, pan, cutting board, knives, can opener, etc. Overall, the room I was given was not well-maintained. The safe did not work properly, the microwave could only heat for three minutes at most because the other buttons didn't work, the towel bar was missing in the bathroom, and the corner had been taped up. The telephone also didn't work and was actually assigned to a different room. The rooms have televisions that if you have the Hilton app, you can control with your phone, and you can also unlock the room with your phone. I did that most of the time, but there was one night where the phone would not work and was glad I had also brought my key card. Snacks. There are no vending machines (there is an ice machine and the one on my floor worked well) but you can purchase snacks, sodas, wine, beer, candy, etc. from a little 'shop' near the front desk and bill to your room or pay with a credit card. Laundry. You can have your laundry sent out for cleaning (there are bags in the room for this) or use the guest laundry on the second floor. It is $1 to wash and $1 to dry. It only takes quarters and at one point, the front desk was out of quarters, so if you plan to use the washers and dryers (there are two of each), I suggest bringing quarters with you. The machines are used frequently so anticipate having to wait as well. Breakfast. The free breakfast is okay. It consists of coffee, hot tea, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. There are four 'hot' items (which were only barely warm most of the time) and those items rotate. Each day there is a type of egg (scrambled, fried, omelet), a protein (bacon, sausague), breakfast potatoes, and a taco meat (chicken tinga, pulled pork, shredded beef). There's also fixings for the tacos including soft tortillas, breakfast breads and pastries, grits, yogurt with granola and dried fruit, cold cereal, and whole fresh fruit. Unfortuately, unlike the Home2Suites, there is no microwave, so you can't heat up your plate individually and you couldn't anyway because it's typically served on foam plates. The staff that work the breakfast are very pleasant and attentive-- I just don't think it's the most ideal set up for keeping items at the proper temperature. Wednesday Night Social. Served in the same area as the breakfast buffet, this is a little party the staff puts on for a few hours on Wednesday night. It includes wine and a few dinner items. The night I went, it was hamburgers, hot dogs, and baked beans. It wasn't anything special, but it saved me from making dinner that night in my room and it's great for kids who want a break from the pool. Pets. There isn't a lot of space to walk a dog but there are bags available outside to pick up after them and they are allowed in the rooms. Hilton Honors Perks. Other than the perks you've chosen, there are no special perks (for example, no dedicated parking for Diamond members, etc. like some hotels have). But you do earn nights toward award levels by staying here. If your expectations aren't too high, you'll find this place to be just fine. It's clean, comfortable, and convenient.
