First of all, the "Excellent" rating is due largely to the outstanding customer service skills of the Night Desk Manager, Coco. I was in Georgia to work at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta. My colleagues and I decided to stay overnight at this hotel, before driving to Augusta the next morning. Flight got in late, but Coco found us rooms. (We had made prior reservations, which helped.) It was a good start to the two weeks of 15-hours days. Some of us had flights leaving very early in the morning on the Monday after the Masters, so we made reservations at this hotel for Sunday night. The Masters ran long, so we didn't get to Atlanta until close to midnight. There weren't any rooms showing as available, but Coco worked her magic and found some. Early the next morning, as my buddy and I were heading to the lobby to check out, I got a text from my airline advising that my flight was cancelled, and that I had been rebooked for the following evening. Once again, Coco came to my rescue, working it so that I could return to the room and stay another night. She even managed to get me a later than normal checkout time, as I was already going to have to hang out out at the airport for 10 hours. Having been seriously sleep-deprived over the past two weeks, this allowed me to sleep in, and spend less time sitting at the Atlanta Airport, which doesn't have any comfortable seats. La Quinta is fortunate to have as gifted a hospitality professional as Coco on their staff! Other aspects of this hotel: 1. The morning breakfast is above average in quality and variety. 2. My room had a lingering cigarette smoke odor, coming from the A/C unit filter. Despite that, the linens, pillows, and mattress all smelled fresh. 3. Airport shuttle service was reliable and the drivers were professional. 4. Location is within easy walking distance to multiple restaurants, and there's a "RaceTrac" travel center next door, with a useful mini-mart. 5. Room was relatively quiet after 10 PM. 6. TV and Wi-Fi were above average.
