The employees are seriously outstanding at this hotel!  The breakfast crew couldn't be any better as well as the front desk staff. The housekeeper on floor one had a super personality and she was efficient. Certainly  appreciate the real Oatmeal as opposed to instant, the fresh fruit and the herb tea (caffeine free) option.  We stay at this hotel annually for 6-7 nights. The remodel is looking great and I greatly appreciate the addition of hanging pegs in the bathroom and Wall.  Also appreciate the addition of the photo-cell night-light in the bathroom.   The strong negative is the HVAC system. I believe it's always been oversized  so keeps the rooms so damp towels won't dry. However this year, the common areas were warm or even hot because of HVAC malfunction.   The gym was so hot, it wasn't usable the entire stay!!! Management knew about HVAC and said repairs were in process BUT never was resolved. There's nothing like sweating through breakfast or heat stroke gym. I can't give 5 stars the place deserves due to HVAC.

We were disappointed to learn upon arrival that the Hampton Inn and Suites Valdosta/Conference Center is currently an active construction zone. When the much-needed renovations are complete, the Hampton Inn will be a wonderful place to stay, but the construction made it less than ideal for our stay. Entire sections of the parking lot were blocked off, not to mention parking spaces taken by the construction workers and equipment. The two elevators were strained to the max with construction workers and their tools, as well as housekeeping, which caused delays for guests. The public areas of the hotel (breakfast room, hall ways) were uncomfortably warm. The housekeeping staff could not keep up with the construction debris on the hall carpeting. The staff worked hard to keep a positive attitude but were obviously overwhelmed. The Manager's Reception did not happen. The requested room housekeeping midway through our 4-night stay did not happen. We had to go searching for clean bath towels because apparently there are not enough to allow towel changes. On the positive side, our renovated room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The room air conditioner worked well. Having the extra space in the studio made for a more comfortable multi-day stay. The breakfast offered a good selection of hot and cold food, including waffles, eggs, meat (sausage or bacon). The breakfast staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring the food was continually stocked, and area was clean and pleasant. The wi-fi was sufficient for email, but

“Renovations Underway”

Because of a winter storm we made reservations on the road with only the hotels app site to use as guidance. Because of a winter storm we made reservations on the road with only the hotels app site to use as guidance. This hotel is in the middle of MAJOR renovations, inside and outside that are not indicated anywhere until you pull up. It looks like it will be terrific and the location is actually wonderful. There were many many visitors checking in. After some discussion with a (maybe new) front desk person who seemed to have memorized a script, we were fortunate to be assigned a renovated room. It was really huge, large TV, great desk and bathroom, wet bar with terrific coffee, new mattress and heating unit. It also had workers toothpicks on the windowsill. The closet is interesting: small hanger area but 2 shelves, no door. It's good that the blackout curtains work well, as the conference center next door has a Las Vegas brightly lit sign. The breakfast/sitting area is very nice, with stained glass art about Valdosta at the top of one wall. Exceptional touch. Ask before you book, this hotel has potential when completed.
