We stayed in May for 6 nights and absolutely loved it. We are already talking about going back and staying there again. It has an all-inclusive resort feel without the all-inclusive price tag. We had a refurbished room in the Rainbow tower with a balcony view of the beach and Diamondhead. Our room was a king with a small couch and was quite roomy. The balcony was large with 2 chairs. We arrived a little early and our room was ready before check in time! It was pricy but worth it. Each tower is unique and offers different price points. We had no trouble getting our room cleaned daily and the service in general at the hotel was top notch. They provided great bath products which I already ordered some for my home. There are approx. 80 shops and boutiques, 5 pools and 20 restaurants. We mainly used the large pool but did try the others. We had a fabulous breakfast at the beachfront restaurant. The lunch food at the pool restaurant was average. Drinks are pricy and very limited servers at the pools. Usually, you need to go to the bar for self-service. All food and drinks can be charged to the room which is convenient. There was not live music at the large pool which we found surprising. The beach was great and we LOVED the lagoon for relaxing if you did not want to worry about the waves. You can rent paddle boats at the lagoon by the hour which we did. We enjoyed the live music and food at the Tapa Bar each night (until 10 pm). This resort is very family oriented and the restaurants/bars close early – approx. 10 pm. It is very busy and I would not consider it low key. If you want something quiet, this may not be the place for you (but we loved it). You have to leave the resort if you want to stay out later. They have cultural activities daily included in the resort fee – I did the hula dancing and my husband and I both did Lei making – the Lei is plastic and you get to take it home as a souvenir. They also have a famous fireworks night on Friday (cancelled due to rain when we were there) and on Saturdays a pool party (we missed this due to leaving that day). We did not rent a car, so we took uber and did tours. Tours pick you up just outside of the resort and uber has a stop inside the resort. There is a car rental spot on site for daily rentals which we did not utilize. Parking is very expensive in Hawaii, so some folks like to rent by the day or for a few days only – so they do not have to pay the expensive parking fees. They have ABC stores on site which are crucial if you don’t have a car – we were there daily, sometimes 2 times a day, for essentials such as snacks, drinks and souvenirs. The only downfall to this property is it is at the very end or beginning of Waikiki near the downtown part of the city I believe. Which means it's about a mile away from the main area of the other hotels/restaurants and high-end shopping. So, we took Ubers which were approximately $10 when we wanted to leave the resort. I would highly recommend this hotel!
