“Unit C101”

Unit c101 managed by Chase N Rainbows. Booked for location, square footage, full kitchen, in unit laundry and pool. The unit had all of those and we had a lanai open to the golf course. Unit c101 managed by Chase N Rainbows. Booked for location, square footage, full kitchen, in unit laundry and pool. The unit had all of those and we had a lanai open to the golf course. The property was great, maybe more stairs than I wanted. Pool was beautiful. The spa heater broke our last day- glad it happened at the end. The property is up the hill from Ka’anapali Beach. An easy walk down and we usually took the free trolley back. Trolley stop is not near the property which was a little inconvenient when you’re tired. Several snorkel companies launch right from Ka’anapali which was great! The pool and shared BBQ’s were spotless and the grounds well manicured. The employee in the main office could be abrupt, but we only saw her twice. The property is a solid 4.5 stars. The unit C101 has 17 stairs down from the parking lot. When we arrived it was clean, but not spotless. The important stuff was well done. The kitchen was a hodgepodge of appliances etc. like your first apartment where you have hand me downs and things left from the party last weekend. The trash bags provided were cheap and tore all the time, we bought some so the walk to the dumpsters was easier. The master bed was fair at best and sofa is well loved. Lighting in the dining area is poor. Not a lot of pride of ownership. Wifi is slow and unsecured. The property managers would not answer questions about the property ahead of time. I called to ask about beach chairs and the answer was the owner is not required to provide. Answers were vague. There were 4 beach chairs, snorkel equipment and beach towels in the unit so I was glad we checked in first before the trip to Costco. There were also NO directions in the unit other than turn off AC when not in room and don’t use aerosol sunscreen anywhere in the unit. No directions to the trolley, no information about where to dump trash. The information email I received from Chase N Rainbows the day before ended up having inaccurate entry information. Thankfully I remembered which unit I reserved and tried the door code on C101 and it worked. Our last day, checkout was 11:00 am and the door code was supposed to change at 11:00. It changed at 9:50am! Thankfully my son was still inside and could open the door or we would not have been able to load up an leave on time. I did send an email to the property managers about it and received no response. I would definitely stay at the property again, but not in a unit managed by Chase N Rainbows.

Don’t golf the Royal much any more, they priced themselves out of my value proposition, but did it today. It really is a great track, full of history, perfectly groomed. “MOSTLY MEDIOCRE”

KAANAPALI ROYAL 303 Nice condo with big rooms and housekeepers that do a FANTASTIC job keeping the home clean. Rented through Maui Paradise Properties (not recommended). The Molly Methhead who checks you in needs to take a lesson on Aloha. The kitchen is poorly stocked with only 7 dinner plates available, worn cookware that left flecks of non-stick coating on our food, and very sparse utensils. No rice cooker, wok, or slow cooker and this should be illegal in Hawaii. Oven, grill, range, toaster, and coffee maker worked just fine. Pool was cloudy and had a lot of organics in it. It’s clear they are not treating or cleaning it Friday-Sunday. It’s also super warm and feels too much like dirty bath water to be refreshing. There are some low-life locals living here that are drunk all day and live off the dole. They were unpleasant to be around at the pool and were rude to the two families with little kids using the pool at the same time as us. Condo community has strict rules that put a slight damper on your vacation. Especially if you have kids.
