First off, you are on top of the world here (specifically, at very neatly Pocatello’s highest point) — which means the view is absolutely breathtaking. We had a most unique room, a 2-King Bedroom Suite. One king with a giant TV in its own room with a door, another King bed in the room that serves as living area with couch, desk and a wet-bar. The bathroom is spacious, with a bath tub. The windows open for a breeze and there’s that view. Fitness room is large, with free weights, the usual machines, even a doctor’s scale. Indoor pool and jacuzzi adjacent. The business center has a fast printer (2-sided, even). All day long you can get complimentary fresh-ground Costa coffee made by the cup, decaf or regular. And we had Costa coffee all through Spain, it’s just delicious. If you are down for coffee at dawn, don’t miss the spectacular view of the city’s lights down below all over Pocatello. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, Chobani yogurt cartons, bananas, the famous Holiday Inn homemade sweet rolls, breads and bagels Special thanks to Lauren on the phone for helping us pick out such a perfect room and also to GM Sarah for getting us in so promptly and professionally and especially for timing our room’s readiness with our arrival. That was really appreciated. What a true joy this whole hotel was.

“What!? No coffee machine in the rooms!”

We are frequent visitors and IHG members to Holiday Inn locations throughout the country. We booked here based on other TA review. We stayed only one night. We found the room clean and a decent size. We are frequent visitors and IHG members to Holiday Inn locations throughout the country. We booked here based on other TA review. We stayed only one night. We found the room clean and a decent size. There is a view although it is not a grand majestic scene as some indicate. You can see the hills off in the distance, but you have other hotels and buildings screening out the sight. As Holiday Inns go this hotel stands with the majority that are well kept, comfortable, clean and pleasant to stay at. In that we enjoyed our stay. Reception was pleasant and the staff all were top rate. The only thing we absolutely abhorred was there is no coffe or tea maker in the room. Instead there was a lacking sign on the mini fridge, that explained: in an effort to save on plastic coffe k cups as a guest we could help ourselves 24/ 7 to coffe in the lobby. OmG what a lame excuse for saving money! This is the first Holiday Inn in a cross country trip that had no coffee machine in the room. What if you want coffee or tea in your room late at night? We are hoping this is not a new national policy for Holiday Inn, because it's cheap and beyond ingracious, and inconvenient. And as IHG members one expects at least the minimum of the availability of a coffee machine in the privacy of the room you book . This does make one wonder about the hotel chain as a whole. So, with that said, I have to say points comes off for this Pocatello location.

“Construction of the lobby and pool area”

The hotel is being renovated right now, pool is not open, check in is at a different room, room is clean tho, lobby is full of construction materials. Room rates should’ve been hugely discounted while construction is being done.

Our stay was disappointing overall, despite a welcoming and efficient check-in. While the website notes that the hotel is under renovation, the condition of the property was far more worn and dated than the photos on their website suggest. Our room felt very tired and, unfortunately, was extremely noisy. I had specifically requested a top-floor room away from the elevator in hopes of having a quiet night. We were not given a top-floor room, and we spent most of the night listening to loud thumping and bumping from the room above us. We could not tell whether the noise was related to renovation work or other guests, but either way, it made it nearly impossible to sleep. We ultimately left at 5:00 a.m. because we were unable to get any rest. Guests should also be aware that there are no coffee makers provided in the rooms. Coffee is only available downstairs from a shared machine, which could easily lead to long lines and frustration during the morning rush. In addition, I was disappointed by the unfriendly greeting from the breakfast attendant when I briefly entered the dining area to get a cup of coffee before leaving. There was also no one present at the front desk when I attempted to check out. Hopefully the renovation will be completed soon, but I recommend calling the hotel directly before booking to confirm that you can be assigned a room that reflects IHG standards. Unfortunately, ours did not.
