A friend and I went for G-fest. We had a great time. everything in the hotel was nice and since we stayed a few extra days in the city we didn't feel any need to go anywhere outside the hotel for extra food or drinks because the options in the hotel were very nice. We quite liked the french fries at the bar and the lunch buffet. everyone was also very nice, even considering the fact they were dealing with a bunch of us lame godzilla fans all weekend. room was totally clean. shower actually got hot (I really liked that lol). Only thing resembling a complaint really is make sure you look up parking info. I found how it works a tad weird regarding some discounts we had, but I don't stay at a lot of hotels.

“Hyatt Regency O'Hare succeeds again”

Excellent hotel. Fifth time here for a convention. Rooms are clean and well serviced. HUGE flatscreen TV. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast and lunch buffet can be charged to your room, or paid for at the time. This hotel does not accept cash, so be ready with your plastic.

First, the good. The staff were absolutely wonderful! Very pleasant and quick to respond to requests and issues. We needed help several times and they were always there right away. From the porters, to concierge, to housekeeping, it was fantastic service. I can't thank them enough. The room was clean and the AC worked well. There was enough room for a manual wheelchair to maneuver (it was an accessible room). It was also relatively quiet considering we were right near an airport and we stayed during a convention. And curtains closed without leaving that irritating gap. I used the hair dryer and it actually had good power. Not like other weak dryers I've used. This one was good. THE ROOM AND BATHROOM WERE TOO DARK!!! There needs to be better lighting, especially in the bathroom. The toilet handle was half broken (it worked but only if you didn't push it down too far). And the roll-in accessible shower isn't designed well. The shower floor is too small and thus the slope is too shallow. That allowed water to flow out of the shower and onto the main bathroom floor, which was also had a drain that was not designed well. So instead of much of the water running down one of the two drains it either puddled on the floor or ran out under the door and into the entryway of the room. The staff was great though. After I made them aware of the problem they were quick to find a solution with me. (I opted to use towels to create a levee as I thought it would be the least disruptive option during my stay.) I want to stress that the levee system was my choice. The staff offered to send an engineer. Finally, the food. The Red Bar was very good. The menu was limited because of the event, which was unfortunate as the options were so few. We arrived the night before the convention started and the menu was considerably larger. Apparently it was scaled back for when the crowds came. I understand why, but I think it was limited too much, especially considering it was the only dining option during the evening hours. But the food was very good. The other place, The American Grill, was awful. I don't think I've ever seen such disgusting burgers. Not even at McDonald's. We paid over $25 each for food we couldn't even eat. I can't say enough bad things about it. It was dirty. There was no help. And worst of all, the food was gross. The little store was convenient. They had a little bit of everything. So that helped a lot. Overall I can say that I probably would not stay there again except for the fact that the convention is held there. I'm used to accessible shower problems as they're a common occurrence in hotels. So I can deal with that. But the food is just too limited and traveling with a disabled person makes leaving the hotel very challenging. So dining elsewhere isn't always feasible. We ordered Uber eats but have no idea where the order was left. (Again, the staff was great and tried to locate the drop-off by using the picture to no avail). That wasn't the hotel's fault but it does illustrate the challenge of finding good food which could have been alleviated by having the The Grill not be so gross. But the the staff was great! So if I wasn't planning on eating in the hotel I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
