I reserved three hotel rooms for my family recently at Loews Chicago. I chose Loews because of the special rates and extra benefits that Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card offers. Loews is one of Chase’s “Edit” class of hotels. I don’t know the hotel’s age, but everything looked new and clean. The only downside was the unavailability of the hotel’s swimming pool. Breakfasts were large and delicious (free with Chase Sapphire). We also enjoyed the lobby bar and restaurant—beautiful surroundings and excellent food and service. The rooms were large and well appointed. The view from our 14th floor room window was magnificent. Customer service from everyone on the staff was outstanding, and the hotel’s location was ideal for walking to nearby restaurants and attractions. We found the nearby parking lot a bit confusing to navigate, but it was convenient.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this Loews hotel. Most importantly, there is a window that opens so that you can get fresh air, despite this being a high-rise, modern hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay at this Loews hotel. Most importantly, there is a window that opens so that you can get fresh air, despite this being a high-rise, modern hotel. The room furnishings were lovely and up-to-date, the bed and sheets were very comfortable, and the hvac settings were very good. We were able to sleep in to 8am without being woken up by sounds elsewhere in the hotel (we were on the 8th floor, with fast frequent elevators). The hotel lobby was buzzing with activity; several weddings inside as well as the world cup on large screens! The only negative was the shower, which could have had a bit more water pressure and a bit warmer maximum temperature.

I thought this hotel was really beautiful. Centrally located and the service was excellent. We requested pillows from housekeeping and they came in 20 mins. We had an awful experience w a family on our end of the hallway. Crying children in the hallway (!!) doors slamming at all hours (they have the heavy self-closing doors that are very loud). This isn’t the hotel’s fault, however the hotel was overrun w kids. At breakfast we noticed over half the tables had kids under 3. If this is not your thing and u would like to sleep/eat/relax without the noise of a crying baby or toddler this is not the place for you. Hint: make sure to make reservations if you want to eat in the hotel restaurant ETA for breakfast. We didn’t the first day and the wait was an hour.

The hotel was very clean and neat however, amenities were extremely expensive and there were several very substantial design floss in each room. The refrigerator in the room kept food at best lukewarm in the refrigerator in the gym was the same trying to get something cold was nearly impossible. The bathroom demonstrated several issues that most people don’t like First the sliding barn door leaves little for privacy. It has large gaps, and if you’re traveling with the group, it can be very emotionally uncomfortable to have your roommates. Listen to one of your bathroom movements. This seems to be a trend, but it’s bad separately. Whoever designed the showers put the showerhead and the controller 3 feet away from the door, which means that you have to go in when you turn on the shower and get splashed with ice cold water before the temperature correct A bottle of water was nine dollars. Which appears to be why most rooms had GrubHub or DoorDash delivered rather than spend money at the hotel.
