I booked this hotel after my reservation at the navy lodge was cancelled due to need for active duty personnel. The hotel was 5 minutes from Great Lakes RTC where my daughter was graduating from navy basic. So it was extremely close and convenient. the rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and my stay was enjoyable. not a first class hotel but very modest and reasonable. I would stay there again.

I recently stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites and found it to be a great choice, especially for a longer stay. The area around the hotel felt very safe, and the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. One thing I noticed was that the customer service could be a bit slow at times, but it wasn't a big issue. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a few restaurants and grocery stores, which I found really handy. Having a kitchen in the room was a huge plus. If you're planning a longer trip, this hotel could be a perfect fit because of its convenient amenities and location.

When we booked it, we knew we wouldn't be able to check in till late (after midnight), so we called the hotel prior to booking to make sure that would be okay - we were assured yes. I called again the week of check in to remind them and received the rudest customer service I think I have ever experienced at a hotel. I was told no and that our reservation would be cancelled. After talking with the manager, I was told to call again (third time) day of check in to remind them, and they would "see what they could do." I called on check in day and unfortunately spoke to the same girl as call number 2 - She ended up telling me it would be fine to check in at 3am. I show up right at 3 and the gal working the front desk seems slightly annoyed and says I should have called to notify them of late check in..... so much for those 3 phone calls. She got us checked in but didn't seem thrilled about it. Not her fault though that the people we spoke to prior never told her. The hotel itself was fine. Not the cleanest and an odd smell. Stain on the sheets and bathroom could use some bleach. If it were not for the rude staff, I would probably stay again.

I stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites for a business trip. First impression was ok. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. For e.g. the TV Remote in my room was not working, and within 20 mins, i was moved room as the support people were not in. The hotel is not the best hotel i have stayed at. The biggest problem is there is NO FOOD at the hotel, except for a small option of fridge/freezer food which are over priced. There is however a Mcdonalds and an Aldi across the highway, but you have to risk your life crossing the highway to get there. My swipe card failed to work almost everyday - not sure why, but the staff reprogrammed it for me on a daily basis. Gym is small, but ok. I thought the room smelt a bit of cigarettes, but apart from that - rooms were spacious. If this hotel had a canteen, it would be perfect.
