I stayed at the Courtyard Indianapolis Airport recently and just wanted to say how impressed I was, especially given that the hotel is currently under construction. Right from the start, the staff made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The airport shuttle picked me up right on time, and when I got to my room, I was surprised with an upgrade to a suite and a sweet birthday bag waiting for me even though my birthday wasn’t for two more days! Such a thoughtful touch. I travel to Indy a lot and have stayed at more than 20 Marriott properties in the area. This one might not be the fanciest, but it’s one of the friendliest. The price is fair, the service is excellent, and it’s clear the team truly cares. Big thanks to everyone at the Courtyard for making my stay so easy and enjoyable!

First, the staff were 5 stars. It's the older facility and stinginess that are 3 stars and prior guests that are 1. The staff were very accomodating, helpful and kind. They were quick with taking me to the airport and bringing me back. They answered questions I had. They took care of my breakfast too and I got a lift to the airport included in my stay. The room was as clean as it could be I think given the state of age of the property. But two things made my experience less than stellar that I don't think staff could fix. 1. Prior guests smoked at this hotel and it seemed to be all over. You could smell it in the rooms and in the halls. I don't know if they had machines to remove the smell, but it was in my room and elsewhere in the building. Why do people do this? They know better! 2. Second, the hotel was "cheap" on things. My bed didn't have a proper mattress pad and I could see stains on the mattress itself even though the mattress didn't look all that old. All hotel mattresses and box springs should be in a zippered "bedbug proof" mattress cover. All mine had was a flat cotton pad that laid ontop of the mattress. It wasn't even a proper mattress protector, just a flimsy pad. The pillows only had one pillow case and no pillow case protector. In the bathroom, I had no bath mat. I realize the price was low and you get what you pay for. But this is a Marriot property for goodness sake! I had no ill effects from my room besides the smell of old smoke and so I didn't rate it lower. They said renovations are to take place in October. I hope this includes proper bedding. The surrounding area seems safe as it's other airport hotels for people like me who need a place to stay before or after a flight. I'd stay in the area again but not sure I'd stay here unless there was a renovation.
