We recently stayed at Home2 Suites Downtown Indianapolis, and while the rooms could benefit from a refresh, the outstanding service more than made up for it! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredible staff. A special shout-out to General Manager, Ben, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and stress-free. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality set the tone for the entire experience. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, responsive, and eager to help—true hospitality pros! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—convenient to all the downtown attractions, restaurants, and entertainment. The rooms are spacious and functional, offering all the essentials for a comfortable stay. While it’s true that the furnishings feel a bit dated and could use some updating, and the paint on our bathroom ceiling was peeling slightly, the cleanliness and excellent service more than compensated. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, especially knowing that such a dedicated team is running the show. Thanks again to Ben and the staff for making our trip to Indianapolis so enjoyable!

“Inhospitable”

My family arrived looking for a very needed respite and left disappointed. It was pouring rain and I called Hilton directly at 9:00 at night after turning around and just leaving a motel 6 that Priceline had set us up in (which had been dangerous and smelly so we hadn’t stayed). I promised my family and the guest staying with us that Hilton would be safe and nice. This time I didn’t use a third party. I booked directly through Hilton and stayed downtown so that it would be a safe neighborhood in a fine hotel. But the whole experience was off putting. Hilton hadn’t mentioned on the phone that there was no parking garage and you could only use valet which was $48/night and totally inconvenient for a family with young kids who often need to run to the car to get forgotten objects and so forth. Upon arriving, we couldn’t get into the building! We stood there sopping wet with exhausted children and all our soaked luggage and waited more than 5 min. Banging on the door before finally the valet returned and it dawned on him to let us into the building where no staff member was present at the front desk. After waiting a minute inside with no “ring for service” or “call for service” options I kinda yelled for help and someone wandered out to check us in. I told the kids to use the bathroom while I checked in and then was told the men’s room was out of order. Then we went to the elevator with 2 of the smallest trollies ever for our luggage and one of the elevators was out of order as well! This was problematic because it meant I had to split my family in 2 to go up and leave some of the kids downstairs with the other trolley which was a little uncomfortable at what was now nearly 10 at night. We got into our room and breathed a sigh of relief to see the signature Hilton look of a nice spacious clean room… Until… We discovered the bathroom door didn’t lock! Let me also frame this by adding that I had a guest with me who had a medical complication that sometimes results in long bathroom stays. So first he couldn’t go down in the lobby because that one was out of order and now the lock on our room’s bathroom doesn’t work either! This poor kid! How embarrassing! And he isn’t even a member of our family so he’s really appreciate privacy in the bathroom! Then to my further embarrassment, there was a hole on the shower curtain and ripped vinyl on the arms of a desk chair that had been shoved in the wrong place near a rolling table rather than beneath the desk where it would’ve fit (the table didn’t have any chairs, oddly). So we had come here specifically for a Hilton experience and here we were with an out of order elevator, out of order bathroom, and tears in the shower curtain and chair and a bathroom door without a lock! I called the front desk and asked them to come fix the lock and they said the maintenance guy was gone for the day and didn’t offer me a new room so I assumed there wasn’t one available. It was now 10:00 at night so I told the kids to get to bed . But I definitely called Hilton honors at this point because by now I was exasperated. I told them that if you’re going to offer a $60 experience you can’t charge $200 a night for it and demanded a discount which they refused. They did offer me a different room at this point but I told them that it was now 10:20 or so and too late because the kids were now in pajamas. I should’ve been offered a different room when I’d called the front desk. They said they’d have a manager call me back at 9am. But at 8am, after I’d gotten kids to sleep well after 10 the night before, the phone woke them up. It was the front desk asking if we’d like to spend another night in a different room tonight. Are you kidding? No thank you! They said they’d match my $200 price from My First night even though the rates were going up this night. I told them I’ve stayed in hotels that were only $100 a night but everything worked including the bathroom locks. We left, spent the next night at a comfort suites, and didn’t look back. The comfort suites had warmer hospitality and what do you know —their bathroom door lock worked. And it was half the price. I am so disappointed in Hilton.

“Nice stay, but feel I’m being lied to.”

Valet parking guy was great, skipped front desk with online check-in/check-out and keyless entry on phone. Staff was fine during stay, but had left my diamond ring and another ring and was told they didn’t find it. They said the cleaning lady had been with them for 8 years, which makes her honest … more

Valet parking guy was great, skipped front desk with online check-in/check-out and keyless entry on phone. Staff was fine during stay, but had left my diamond ring and another ring and was told they didn’t find it. They said the cleaning lady had been with them for 8 years, which makes her honest I guess? Room was clean, smelled another woman’s perfume on the top cover. Would stay again, however if you have a brain lapse and forget something, don’t expect it back. So disappointed. Got a little attitude from General manager as well.

check in was quick because i had done most of it on my phone. The hotel is right on a busy street and really no place to stop and park except a dirty alley next to the hotel. The valet was no where to be seen. I ended up being told by the front desk to just leave my car in the alley. It was still there a couple hours later and I had to call to remind them to put it in the garage. The room was OK, but not well cleaned; i found a mystery glob of stuff on the wall and a toothpick on the floor next to the bed. other than that it was OK i guess. it was strange in that the room had a pretty full kitchen which i did not need, but had no desk chair which I DID need. Also the microwave did not work so no way to warm up the lukewarm coffee in the lobby. The bed was comfortable the bathroom was clean and well lighted. Room lighting was good. there seemed to be plenty of outlets for charging stuff The air conditioner worked OK, except it would go no lower than 68F. Sleep quality would have been good except the previous resident left the stupid alarm clock on set at 630AM and since it was literally a black cube there was no way to see how to shut it off. unplugging it did not stop the alarm. The maids need to turn those things off when they clean the room. breakfast was somewhat lame. cold eggs and bacon and dried up ham. no yogurt or milk and the aforementioned lukewarm coffee. when i left the valet was no where to be seen although my car was left in the alley again UNLOCKED with the keys just sitting on the podium inside the unlocked lobby. and that cost me $46! overall i expected a lot for for the $400 or so i spent on this hotel.
