“Great Hotel in Downtown Des Moines”
If you're concerned about street noise request an interior room - it was so quiet! A+ breakfast!! The room was perfect. Bed was comfortable the fireplace was nice and the whirlpool tub was great.

“Gothic Luxury”
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at Des Lux. We loved the huge room, appreciated the dark color scheme, and enjoyed the generous breakfast buffet. The lobby features amusing Halloween decor and there's ample street parking next to the hotel. We'd definitely stay here again!

“Relaxing stay”
We had a lovely weekend here. The rooms were large and clean. We got a massage and the massage therapists were respectful and kind. Overall, a great stay.

“Excessive street noise. Wonderful Hotel. Nice breakfast included. It is really too bad the city can’t enforce street.”
Wonderful hotel. Issue is not with the hotel. Love it. Downtown Des Moines has a real issue with excessive street noise by unmuffled cars roaring up and the streets in wee hours of the morning Real deterrent to staying in what is neat downtown hotel.
