“Beautiful Hotel, But Pricey”

This was our first visit to Loews Kansas City Hotel. My husband & I stayed for 1 night (a Tuesday). CHECK-IN: Prior to check-in, I called 2x & emailed 1x to request a quiet king bed room on the top floor, preferably with a view of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. We arrived around 5p; check-in took approximately 15-20 minutes. We were assigned room #1158. A nice, quiet corner room, but not much of a view. CHECK-OUT: Denied late check-out* due to high occupancy, but after we left our room the front desk offered "late check-out" so my husband could continue to use in & out parking privileges until 12:30 PM. • Amenities: Coffee maker, hair dryer, hangers, iron, luggage rack, mini fridge, robes & safe. No microwave. • Bath: Plenty of hot water & good pressure. The shower knob was ridiculously difficult for both me & my husband to turn. • Bed: Medium-soft firmness; very comfortable! • Cleanliness: Spotless. We even saw housekeeping wiping down the hallway walls. • Cooling/heating: Room stayed comfortable. Heats up quickly if you get chilly. • Decor: Modern • Sound: Very quiet! We did not hear any noise from other guests. • TV: Large TV, but limited streaming options (Pandora, Pluto TV & YouTube). I'd recommend adding an option to log-in to personal accounts, e.g. Netflix, Paramount+. • View: Direct view of the Courtyard by Marriott. Definitely better views (Kauffman Center for Performing Arts & sunset) on the other side of the hotel. We did like the floor-to-ceiling windows, though. • WiFi: Didn't use; T-Mobile worked well CUSTOMER SERVICE: Polite 'n professional in person but does not respond to emails. The SMS feature within the app doesn't work, but I was able to pull the # 816-754-0400 & text my late-check out* request. FOOD: We ate breakfast at The Stilwell. Good food, quick service, but a bit pricey -- $51.53 for two entrees (two small slices of french toast & biscuits 'n gravy), one soda & tip. LOCATION: Conveniently connected to the convention center & parking garage. PARKING: $33 for self-parking ($45 for valet). OTHER: 7th floor terrace out-of-order. POOL/HOT TUB: Closed 12/14-12/20, 2025. Super bummed & surprising considering how busy the hotel was. They offered pool privileges at the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott, but we didn't partake. Would I recommend/stay again? Yes, I would recommend it for cleanliness & room comfort(!), but it's quite pricey -- you're looking at nearly $300/night for the cheapest room mid-week with limited amenities at the moment (no complimentary breakfast, hot tub/pool/terrace closed, limited streaming options, etc).
