Excellent. Sarah at the front desk was amazing. She went above and beyond to accommodate her guests. We will definitely return due to her hospitality. A great place to stay for keeneland or the airport. Great people here.thank you for your hospitality

This visit to the Fairfield Inn at Keeneland proved to be somewhat disappointing. Arriving at the Fairfield on Monday night, there were very few cars in the Parking Lot, in fact, I wasn't sure it was open. A gentleman was checking in ahead of me and having difficulty with what should have been an easy check in process since he was a Regular visitor to this property, but the Check In Clerk (Trenton) proved difficult to deal with, and after this guest finished such frustration, it was my turn. As a Platinum Member of Marriott, I usually get upgraded for my stay. I presented my Platinum Card and Trenton asked me if I had as reservsation. I assured him I did, and he then asked me my name (I told him it's on the card!) After driving 10 hours, I wasn't in the mood for the negativity that I was getting--he gave me the Room Key and when I asked if i I could be upgraded to a suite, Trenton told me nothing was available and "None are available and that the owner doesn't permit upgrades unless the Guest is the Highest Rank for Marriott." I took the key and noticed I was on the 2nd floor and I had requested the highest floor, but Trenton said that the 3rd floor was full of Military personnel and I should be happy that the 2nd floor was available! I turned to walk away but I asked "Doesn't this property offer a special amenity to Platinum guests at Check In" but Trenton said he wasn't aware of this practice. I also asked don't you give the Guest a choice of Points or Items from the Snack Area--Trenton said he automatically gave me points because the other choice isn't that good of deal. Iwas fed up and I retired to the room. This room was a nice room but unfortunately it had some problems: the television was faulty and kept turning on and off during the various programs; the desk lamp that I wanted to use in order to write some notes was not working; and the bed was certainly not the comfortable bed that I was expecting. The next morning at Check Out, I visited at length with Kristin, and explained my negative experience. She was empathetic and apologetic . She also told me that there were plenty of room available for upgrades and that there was no Military occupancy on the 3rd floor! I told her that the last time I stayed at this property, I wrote a glowing report on all aspects of my stay at that time, but this time, I was not going to do so. I will heartily endorse the departure experience with Kristan, the house keeping staff, and the breakfast that was given. I will be traveling lagter this yeafr and going through the Lexington area, but I'm not sure that I want to take a chance with this particular Fairfield when there are other Marriott properties available.
