“Great Friendly Staff Very Hospitable”

Enjoyed my stay here at Hilton Garden Louisville East! The staff was great and made my stay wonderful, especially staff members Regina - front desk, KayKay- bartender, and James - kitchen chef.

Hotel grounds were clean and neat, as was lobby area when I arrived. Pool was being used by several families and it seemed nice enough. Stopped at front desk to ask question about check-in, even though already done on mobile app and they acknowledged that everything was all good to go with no further questions, including that my complimentary waters were in the room. All front desk staff I interacted with were friendly and professional. Room was nice and clean. Everything worked as it should. And bonus for there being a Keurig coffee maker so I could use some of my own pods! Shower water pressure wasn't overly strong, but that's not an issue for me. I hate to waste water, as happens in many hotels where it comes out way too strong for what I need. There was plenty enough still, and it was hot. Breakfast was where they lost a star for me. As with any HGI property, breakfast is not free and not fully covered by F&B credit, which I knew and expected. The only choice they had, at least on a weekend, was a "buffet". But it was a fairly pitiful buffet. There were the usual 3-4 hot choices, and those were actually fresh and good (eggs were above average for a hotel property). But beyond that: there was no oatmeal, there was one VERY small tray of fresh cut fruit with 3-4 pieces of melon among a lot of pineapple, a few breads were offered and spreads, (at least breads seemed fresh). Only skim milk was available for cereal. Cereal labels were not correct for what was in the canisters. OJ was mostly water (even after shaking up the container). There was ONE container of yogurt available. The only redemption was that it was very cheap - so I guess I got what I paid for in this case? Just beware - if you're there on a weekend, it won't be much of a buffet (I typically find more at the "free" buffets at Hampton, etc.).

I have Hilton Diamond status. HGI is my preferred Hilton brand when traveling. I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. This was the first time in a few years. I’d always had a good experience here, however, this time I was disappointed, primarily for 2 reasons: 1) the breakfast menu clearly stated that the buffet and the egg entrées were ineligible for the food and beverage credit to which I am entitled. This struck me as petty and unjustified. A food and beverage credit should apply to all food and beverages at the hotel. 2) When I checked in, the toilet in my room was running and partially flushing randomly, and the pop-up drain rod in the sink was stuck in the closed position. These issues required a visit from a maintenance tech. To the hotel’s credit these issues were fixed promptly and courteously. Otherwise, the room was clean and in good condition. The French toast I had for one breakfast was very good. However, the pancakes I ordered the second day were pale, tough, and chewy. My status was not acknowledged at any time during my visit, although that’s a minor issue. The staff was courteous and helpful. I would probably not stay here again in the future because of the limitations of the food and beverage credit. It’s the most important benefit of my status.
