“Great location, clean rooms”

Location. The hotel is on Collins Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets, on the beach side of the street. Room: We had a room with a king bed. No nasty carpet but ‘wooden’ floors. Bathroom is small but perfectly fine. Rom was clean, large walk in closet which was great to store suitcases, and shoes. Ample drawers for 2 people. Fitness Center: unlike the rooms, the gym looked dirty and had a funky smell. Needless to say, we did not use it. The hotel back’s entrance is in the boardwalk to the beach so you are better from walking outside. Pool and ‘backyard area’: Pool is small but fun. It got very crowded by 11am I’m the morning to the point where there was a line for people waiting for pool chairs. There is also beach access with chairs and towels too. The back portion of the pool area serves food and drinks.

The hotel occupies a prime location on South Beach, on the beach with plenty of restaurants/etc. in walking distance. In line with most of the properties in this area the plot is long and thin and the design of the hotel makes really good use of this with a really nice pool area leading to an outside bar, hot tub and games area before the beach. The interior ground floor public areas are also nicely done out and in keeping with the age and style of the building, however things go down hill once you go up to the other floors. The corridors are dark and very tired, to the extent of looking dirty and scruffy in places. The bedrooms are similar, the beds were ok but the bathroom very tired as was the small chest of drawers. Sockets on the one bedside table didn't work. If you can request a higher floor, we were on the second and our windows looked out onto the wall of the hotel next door, just a few feet away.

“The excellent exterior amenities don’t make up for the tired interior”

The property is not bad, but needs some love and care on the inside. The exterior amenities of the hotel are excellent – great pool and outdoor area. The property is not bad, but needs some love and care on the inside. The exterior amenities of the hotel are excellent – great pool and outdoor area. The flooring in my room was in dire need of replacement (cracked/broken pieces, spongy in spots, huge gaps). The shower took a full 5 minutes to warm up and there was a consistent flow of bugs coming from the sink and shower drains. Beds left much to be desired. At the price point and with the sheer number of hotels in the area, I don’t think this property is competitive.

The hotel is in an excellent location. You are in Collins St., with tons of restaurants and store, and 5 min walking from Lincoln st., one of the most loved street by tourists. The pool is in the backyard , and so is the private beach. So far, so good. The rooms are vary; We had 3 rooms. 2 of them were small and very disappointing, more like in a motel, not hotel. The third room was much nicer, bigger, with a swing and a chaise lounge in the room. HUGE different between the rooms. Pay attention which room you are booking. If your room is facing Collins st. , it will be very noisy. You hear everything from the street, even from 8 floor. Do I recommend this hotel? Not sure. I think you can find better on Collins st. for the same price (or almost the same).
